It was time for dinner with Biscotti! We decided on going back to Hachi Hana Japanese Restaurant, after having some decent takeout from here last year. Hachi Hana is located in North Vancouver on Lonsdale. Parking may be difficult depending on the time you come, but there is underground paid parking in the Whole Foods if you can’t find street parking.
Excellent sushi. The chefs know what they are doing here.
We love Hachi Hana and are regular customers. It’s our favourite sushi place in North Vancouver for a quick casual meal.
Sushi made with care and attention. Everything we have ordered from bento box to teriyaki to rice bowl to sashimi to sushi has been beautifully presented and delicious. I recommend the Stegosaurus Roll. Service is great. Small place so expect a wait during lunch and dinner rush.
Quite possibly the best sushi I have had lately. Good service, good ambience, aesthetically pleasing and delicious. What more could you want.
Over the holidays I had a number of close friends return to town to visit family. One of my close group of friends all originally hail from North Vancouver, so I made a couple of trips over the bridge to visit them on their home turf. And I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised. North Van (or more specifically Lonsdale) has some not so terrible night life. Having lived in the Vancouver area for my entire life you’d think that I would know this by now. But I’d just written off North Van along with all the rest of suburbia. At one point I even caught myself thinking that I could see myself living in Lonsdale. But that illusion was quickly shattered when I had to wait almost half an hour for the sea bus to bring me back downtown. Nooooope. Never going to happen.
Come and check this place! Really tasty food, everything is not expensive. I recommend you to try BBQ Salmon Toro.
I like their style of cooking. Now they have a new menu!
The place to go in North Van. This place really knows how to pay attention to detail to their dishes. I've been here a couple of times, and it seems like the type of place where every dish you try will be yummy. For example, the standard salmon maki, tastes the same from place to place, right? Nope, who knew it could taste so much better? I want to try all their sushis now! There are a lot of cheaper Japanese restaurants in Vancouver, but you pay for what you get - Hachi Hana is the place to go.
Delicious. Spicy Dynamite Roll was very tasty, Chicken Katsu and Prawn Udon was great. the cut of Tuna on the nigiri was very nice with a pink hue to it. Attentive service and reasonable prices.
Best authentic Japanese in NV for the money. All of their food is excellent and a cut above the rest. They put more ingredients in their donburi and udon bowls than anywhere else I've been - and it's all quality, cooked to perfection. The service is top notch. Unlike most Japanese restaurants in North Van, they are actually Japanese, and it really shows through the quality and presentation of their food, the atmosphere and cleanliness of the restaurant, and the politeness of the staff. Prices are very fair - noodle and rice bowls on par with cheaper "Japanese" restaurants, sushi is a bit more expensive, but the fish is always of excellent quality so that is totally acceptable! My only gripes are the limited number of tables, and they are closed on Sundays.
Very good quality, tight rolls that don't fall apart (unlike Sushi Town) and cheap, almost as cheap as sushi town which is my boyfriend and I's usual spot :) it's nice and quite too, recommended for sure!
Fresh sashimi for once! Amazing food. So usually I dont write reviews but this place was delicious enough that I think it deserves one! So first of all i've tried nearly every single sushi place in north van and a couple in vancouver and this has got to be the best. Their sashimi is ALWAYS fresh, rolls perfectly sized, reasonable prices, and just good old fashioned authentic japanese food. I was pleasantly surprised considering how many sushi places are on lonsdale. But man it was delicious. Recommend it to anyone.
The cute white waitress that works there wasnt too bad either lol :) service was great
definitely gonna let all my friends know about this gem. Check it out!
Extensive menu, with service being prompt and friendly. A friend had the Yam Salad Roll with no complaints - it came heaping with shredded yam on top and was more than ample for lunch! The Spinach and Chopped Scallop Rolls were tasty. The restaurant is a good neighborhood eatery for Japanese fare and has a makeshift patio, perfect for the summer!
Overall a great Sushi place
Good variety of rolls, sashimi and nigiri.
Portions are good with reasonable price.
Nigiris were great which shows the great quality.
The rolls were not as great though only because it was too saucy. The sauce taste was basically taking over.
Very good sushi and seafood udon. But the blue fin tuna sashimi that I got was the best! Excellent service!
The plating was immaculate, and the food wa so delicious! The miso soup was the best I've had anywhere, and the Chicken Teriyaki bowl was super tasty! 😋
Almost five star. Had the lunch bentos. Portions were good, all fish cuts were great and generous. Very good quality. Good tempura. However... The rolls were not great. More like grocery store quality and didn't eat more than a few of them. However... That may be a one off and the rest of it made up for it. Still, this should be 4.5 stars. I'll give them another shot though.
Great food, friendly and quick service. Very clean and always very attentive to your orders and needs. Even the kitchen staff greets you when you arrive. Such a great atmosphere. Thank you so much. Love going there.
Really good fresh sushi and tasty chicken karage. Enjoyed that the spicy roll sauce wasn’t mayo based and had good flavor. Great service as well ! Very nice presentation of all dishes.
