I went there yesterday 19th April 2016, because the google rating for this place was high: 4.2/5. I ordered take-out in advance for the chicken and rice. The restaurant doesn't look well maintained. I brought in the food not expecting much but it was simply amazing! I loved it so much that I went back again the next day today 20 Aoril 2016. They recommended the lamb. It is great but doesn't beat the chicken. If I had enough money I would buy out the cook and fix this place up. I am sure with a bit of management (they don't speak English, the tables were not cleared on time, the drinks are limited and were placed on one table in the back room and there is no one behind the counter when you walk in...) this can really turn profitable. I guess it does bring in some money since the resto is in a semi-basement and had clients both times I went in. Simply put: Loved the food but can't take a date there.

Come one come all, so good it will impress!!. I walked in hungry and in a hurry due to my short 30 mins lunch break. The options were vague and the photos don't do the food justice. I inquired about a few dish's before choosing the beef dish. I was warned it would take 30 mins to prepare. I accepted reluctantly. The food took a long time 35 mins. The plate was large and so was the portion. The beef was cooked and seasoned to perfection so much so that it puts most steak houses to shame. The beef was good quality and not to tuff with no fat/grizzle what so ever! The fried plantains were very good and the rice was tasty. I came away impressed enough to write my first review on Urbanspoon for this place! This was my first time eating African food and will not be the last.

The rice and chicken was really really good. The food is very flavorful. Not too spicey (mind you I am sti lankan :) ). If you like spicey ask for hot sauce. The hot sauce is very spicey. The rice must be eaten with the fried banana. The banana is so sweet it compliments the flavor of the rice and chicken. The waitress is unpleasant and not interactive. Btw they do not speak any english. I don't speak any French but manage to order.

A must when in Montreal. The food is so very good, but does take a while to make. It is best to call ahead if you do not have 30 minutes to wait. Also helps to speak French. The fish, chicken, rice and plantains are perfect. If you like a little extra heat be sure to ask for some red chilli sauce.
