My friend Alex convinced me (I mean, come on, how much convincing do I need to go to a new restaurant?) to try Les délices de l'île Maurice last week. Plus, it's a BYOW! I was totes down. Down to go out on the town! Aaaand the rhyming has ceased. Alex's dad is actually from there, and she goes on the regular. Well, enough that the owner came to say hi, hugs were exchanged and she knew her by name. I'd say they're in the friend zone.
Amazing service, vibrant colour in the food, good amount of food, excellent soup and good quality of food (clean and fresh), real home cooking style. They just need more music options when I was there
A true delight. Amazing atmosphere! We went there for dinner one night and ended up dancing the night away with the owners. Very warm and welcoming service.
Great experience, great price. You can stay there for 2 hours with a 5 course meal. Small but very charming dining room. Small restaurant charm with very nice owners!
This is a very nice family run restaurant. It is not a very big, so it might not always be easy to get a table. I suggest that you make a reservation before hand on weekends. The food was delicious. They have an a la carte and a set meal menu. For my appetizer I had the fried coconut shrimps and they were a delight. I then had the fish and shrimp combo as main course. You have a choice of sauce and I went for the sweet and sour. They went well together. However, the dessert was nothing to die for. I had the Tiramisu and a friend had the tapioca pudding. Don't expect anything too sweet. All in all, it was a nice dinner with generous portions. However, I didn't know the fish and shrimp combo was fried and it was a bit too much fried stuff for me at the end. If you like fried stuff, they do a great job of making them extra crispy. This is definitely a place to try. Do try their Vanilla Tea which is a very local tea drink to have in Mauritius.
I’ve been going there for the past 15 years. Never disappoints!! Absolutely delicious and great value. Incredible home cooked mauricien food and very friendly owner. 10/10
One of the most delicious meals I've had in a long time! The service was quite slow, but to be fair we were a large group and the restaurant was packed. It was definitely worth the wait! The food was individually prepared with a wide choice of sauces and well-presented. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Will definitely be back!
Last time I came to eat at this location was over 10yrs ago. It is just as good as I remembered it to be. Table d'hôte is amazing, 5 courses for only 30-35$. Everything was fresh and delicious! Very small and intimate space, BYOB, even the dessert was made in house and was to die for. Everything about this place was great, definitely recommend eating here!!
Awesome place for Mauritian food in Montréal! Felt very welcomed and the usual warmth from the island, felt at home. First time visiting and meeting the host who was great and friendly, recommended and definitely going back with friends! Manger ti mari bon, table d’hôte prix extra abordable, mine bouilli ourite, vindaye poisson, boulettes!!! 🌞🤩
The food was delicious and the portions are generous. Try it you won't regret
A lovely local restaurant that seems to be family-owned. The food is always lovely and the service is nice. I particularly enjoy the coconut shrimp and the ginger fish. It can be quite busy, so I recommend you reserve in advance if you have the opportunity. I definitely recommend it!
The food wasn't *amazing*, but for me the overall experience was a well deserved 5 stars.
The place is cozy and colorful. Service is very friendly. Before you even order anything, they bring out a plate of fried cabbage for everybody. You're lucky if you get some bread for free nowadays so this is very appreciated.
The table d'hôte comes with a fair bit of food, including soup, entrees, main plate and dessert. Everything was quite good. I enjoyed the Mauritian style fried noodles, tasty comfort food. We also appreciate that it is BYOB so you can enjoy a glass of wine without paying a huge premium.
All in all, a nice little place to discover a cuisine I don't think I've ever seen anywhere else.
