Really quaint little place. I am really lucky to live on a street with two of Montreals best Sushi joints - Yoshi and Tri across the street.
Yoshi is somewhat cheaper and less flashy but they are consistent and after trying some nasty sushi around this city since i moved here, I keep coming back here. They're food is fresh - I don't appreciate the dude who called their fish 'substandard' , I've never had a piece of substandard, fishy or non sushi grade fish here. No, the tuna isn't bright pink out of the Pacific - but it's delicious, and has always been in the two and a half years I've been going here. The sushi rolls are definitely a 'style', and there are a lot to choose from. I guess my complaint would be that the chef that owns the place isn't Japanese so it kind of shows in the rolls -a little heavy on the rice and the tempura batter isn't the lightest, but the combinations are delicious. Side note: the owner is Vietnamese -- and would probably do better business by opening a real Vietnamese Pho place since that is seriously lacking in my area.
