You'll be in for quite a treat when you come here! Their ice cream is great! I had their vanilla with chocolate crunch flavour. Of course the wait will be long, especially on hot summer days, but it will be worth it! Definitely recommend!
Hand rolled ice cream is all the rage these days. I was a bit apprehensive coming to check out Pandan as my experiences with rolled ice cream have been just so so. It's located next door to Gracia Afrika.
We dropped by after dinner on a Wednesday evening. Just a few girls were in front of us so the wait wasn't too long. They had three workers manning the stations and it took about 5 minutes to make.
There were six flavours of the day along with two vegan options and popsicles. The cream comes from Waterloo, QC - yeah, you read that right. Who knew there was a Quebec Waterloo? Bonus: no preservatives or synthetic additives are in their cream.
- Strawberry hibiscus ($6.50) - topped with shortbread cookies, the ice cream was creamy, smooth and fresh. The strawberry sauce drizzle was a nice touch.
Honestly, you don't need to get your own cup. It's the perfect amount to share. Cash or debit only!
If you are looking for to have a new food experience, then you have to visit this place. Everyone should try Thai rolled ice cream at least once in their lives: the preparation is different, the combinations between tops, sauces and ingredients, too. Moreover, in this place everything is homemade without coloring or preservatives; so it is more natural and organic—this is one of the reasons why a regular size ice cream can be expensive, so in the end, you are paying for an exotic gourmet experience. The aspect I liked the most about Pandan Creamery are the unique ingredients (most of them from Thailand) and creative mixtures. However, the service can improve.
Crèmerie Pandan has been on my list for a very short time. My friend Nantha, who is this uber popular Pop-Up chef in Montreal (and across the world for that matter) wrote something about his daughter opening up a crèmerie on Notre-Dame. Not any kind of crèmerie... one that makes thai rolled ice cream. Excuuuuuse me! I totes had to hit that.
recently opened ice cream shop in saint-henri that specializes in the famous thai rolled ice cream.
place is small, selection is minimal, lovely owner, decently good ice cream (need improvement), the rolled ice cream is quite interesting to say the least. i enjoy watching the process of making it. very easy if you have the right tool (the ice sheet)
during the week, it is pretty quiet therefore no lineup. weekends on the other hand, wait can be quite long. probably longer than kem coba but without as many patrons.
there's place for improvements. since they opened not long ago, they still need to get their footing and will, hopefully, improve as time goes
