We were lucky enough to get decarie hot dog steamies for our sweet table at our wedding last month. Tom was so nice to deal with. The hotdogs were delivered to the hall on time , warm and delicious! The steamies are the absolute best in Montreal ! They were a huge hit and we cannot thank decarie hot dog enough for helping make our wedding so great!
Never a bad experience visiting this place. I have been going here for almost 35 years now.
They have friendly staff and just good eats.
In fact after 35 years, I actually tried their breakfast, and it's AWESOME and affodable
Visited this 'since 1969' hot dog/breakfast/poutine joint that my cousin used to go to in her college days. Family owned, bar stool hole in the wall. Poutine pictured below is $6, first poutine place that the cheese curds are generously melted & was yum. Shared it with my cousin. Had a steamie hot dog but I prefer the ones at La Belle Province more. If your looking for cheap eats, try it here!
Aaaaahhhh, Decarie Hot Dog, our comfort food for years and years. What would I have done without you on my drunk night out back to Cote Vertu. Love your poutine form the bottom of my heart!

Simply the best on Decarie. All what this place prepares is just amazing from poutine to burgers to hot dogs. The place is a liitle bit tight in space but this is makes an ideal spot on cold days.
Décarie Hot Dog is THE casse-croute in Ville St-Laurent (St-Lau), home of the best hot dogs in the city and a killer poutine. As a little , Diva #1 use to come with her dad and P’tit Frère, and now as an adult it’s her go-to spot after her soccer games, for late night eats, and when she’s with friends roaming around St-Lau looking for a quick (and greasy) bite. It’s been owned by the same Greek family for over forty years, generations of Greek immigrants, and Greek Canadians have been working there, and they promise us that that will never change.
We got the classic poutine with fries, gravy, and cheese curds. It was really good! I liked the gravy and how the cheese curds melted perfect into the fries. Yum! Since it was made right away behind the counter, we didn’t have to wait for more than two minutes to be served.
Having studied at nearby Vanier college, this place fed me for a couple of years.
Driving by it recently, I popped in for a taste of my adolescence and was rewarded with a reminiscent conversation with all the same owners. Just as rewarding were a pair of Montreal's best steamies and an awesome poutine.

Still good. Old school hot dog counter.
EVERY Montrealer should know DHD. Can't pass by without getting some fries and most often i ask for a double double(2 fries& 2 dogs)to go . 7 seats and room for 5 standing dictates i gotta run before it fills up and seemingly every time I go its like affirmation to others that follow in shortly after me . Been there off and on my entire life , great eats , quick "snatsk" been there for at least 50 years give or take 20 yes very long time staff works long hours yet always friendly despite their exhaustion, you feel like it's family owned and operated because you are well-served well-thanked and polite !! Most likely THE smallest restaurant you will ever walk into , not there to be fancy nor overcomplicated ,been there for over 50 years because its plain GOOD the way it SHOULD open early and late , and tastes great !!
My favorite poutine. Nothing fancy. Cash only!!
One of the best Poutine in Town. Greasy Fries + Flavourful authentic Sauce + Squeech squeech cheeze = Décarie Hot Dog enough said
Really great place for lunch. The hot dogs are pretty tasty.
Poutine is bit greasy though, so if your stomach is not ready for this. Don't go there.
Everything else is pretty good.
Order it for office lunch or family movie night.
Pictures don't look so tasty, but it is indeed tasty.
As mentioned in the reviews, very friendly staff and no one rushes you to order. First time visiting and it was a great experience.
Food is amazing especially the poutine. The gravy is so tasty and the fries is so good. Tried the hot dog too and it was good.
All in all I definitely recommend it.
Great steamies and fries. I didn't have it but the poutine looked very good. Due to covid the lunch counter is closed but there sre 2 table's just outside the front door.
Would come here ever since I was a child and quality and products didn't change. Definitely the best fries in Montreal (although a bit unhealthy). This time I had the hotdog poutine which was exactly what you want a poutine to taste like.
Best hot dogs in the city. Shops been in the same family for decades. I grew up in Montreal but moved to Toronto in 77. I make a pilgrimage with my kids to Decarie hot dog every time I visit.
Very friendly staff and their poutine is one of the best one I ever eaten (read the article where this store is number one in Quebec).
And it feels like the store is stuck in 1980s era where the sign and the cosmetics are very interesting to describe.
