This BBQ place in old Montreal is the bomb! They have the best brisket that I have ever tasted, ever. Tender and tasty, melt in your mouth, an't wait to go back for more. They also have pulled pork, beef ribs and pork ribs. Everything was awesome, the owner is always there and he spent some time with us telling us his story of how he got to where he is now. Great guy, great food, great atmosphere. You will need to make a reservation to make sure they have enough food. They close when they run out of food.
It is worth the trip!!
Great bbq and the staff is very friendly. We booked a table for 7 a few days prior. The owner was accommodating and very happy to have us. Shared a few laughs while we were there with him and the staff which was a nice experience.
The beef rib was probably my favorite but everything we had was very high end, high quality bbq for a good price. I definitely recommend. Great experience for a group of hungry guys. Some families were there as well. Do not miss out.
Amazing meal and amazing drinks! It’s worth taking the time to make a reservation (even if some people…Tim….don’t understand why). Owner John was super friendly and funny, and explained why they require reservations (it’s not the space available, it’s the care and craft it takes to make the meats and the limited amount they can make at a time). Mac and cheese was amazing, Arnold Palmer cocktail was refreshing, and the meats were too much to handle, but we ate them anyway! 10/10 would recommend!
I give this place a 4.5/5
Meat lovers you're at the right place! Lattuca BBQ truly didn't disappoint. It was awesome.
I recommend having a reservation because it is not a big place. The decorations was rustic and loved the feel it gave as well as the ambiance.
I love their concept. Each plage start with one meat (27$) and two sides. You can also add additional cuts as you wish for an extra 2-3$. They have need brisket (they are renowned for this), beef rib, pork rib, chicken and pulled pork. As for the sides there are a coleslaw salad, mac and cheese and baked beans.
We tried all the cuts of meat and we think the brisket and the beef ribs are the best! You should also ask for their BBQ sauce. It makes everything taste better. All the meats were perfectly cooked and melt in the mouth. The only thing is you have to eat it fast because when it cools down, it's a lot harder to eat because it is a heavy meal. Taking the salad is also very recommended.
They have many choices of local beers as well as a few choices of wines. Cocktails are also available.
Overall, we were in a meat coma after we finished. We also took some home because of their portions. This is a must try American BBQ restaurant to try.
If I could give this place 6 stars I would.
Came here for a bachelor party. The service was great. Server has a great sense of humor and was quick and accurate getting our drinks out. Food was out of this world. Beef rib fell off the bone. Pork ribs were the best I've ever had. The owner, Jean, was amazing. He came out and talked about his time in Texas and how he came about barbecuing. We told him about the bachelor party and he and all the staff came out for a shot of bourbon with us. Super nice person and great restaurant. Would come back every time
I have lived in Georgia (US) for 16 years and have never enjoyed barbecue as much as I did at Lattuca Barbecue!
The brisket is SO tender it falls off the fork! I also have children who are picky eaters and they commented on how good the food was!
If you’re in Montreal and you enjoy barbecue, you will not be disappointed!
Meat was perfectly cooked: brisket was super soft, generous beef rib falling off the bone, and pork rib was sweet and juicy.
Sides were great too! Macaroni and cheese was the perfect texture and well seasoned. Baked beans were sweet, great side for the beef rib.
I am so glad that my husband and I decided to try Lattuca’s Barbecue. As native Texans, we were enticed by the promise of Texas-style barbecue, and we were not disappointed! The brisket was up to Texas standards and the pulled pork was the best we’ve ever had. We had the most wonderful time chatting with John about all things Texas BBQ and Adele was the most gracious host. This is a must-visit stop in Old Port, Montreal!
This is real-deal Texas-style barbeque in the Old Port! We had the brisket (of course), beef ribs(!), pulled pork, and chicken, and it's some of the best I've had outside Austin. Check out pitmaster John Lattuca's background on their website: he's the real thing. Tip: Make a reservation--this place always seems to be hopping--and go early so you don't miss out on a favorite.
Brisket and pork were amazing! Sides were very cold. Pork ribs looked good but didn’t try them. Would recommend trying this place if you haven’t been.
