Best culinary experience in Montreal! Blind tasting menu imaginative, fresh, delicious and healthy!. The staff can't better and more accommodating. We enjoyed one of our best nights in a restaurant. A very well done to the chef and team!
I had a fantastic overall experience here. The service was excellent. A few days before our dinner I got a call from the restaurant to check to see if we had any allergies. Arrival was great we walked through the kitchen and were greeted by the chefs, which was cool. Our server Lilly was absolutely fantastic, funny and charming. She definitely helped cultivate the experience. The tasting menu we had this particular night was pretty good a good blend of flavors but nothing over the top. If you're in town and can get a reservation I'd recommend it for a great overall dining experience.
Excellent place. Just the pure joy of eating food that tastes so good. Each bite is an explosion of flavor, some bold, some delicates, but always with a lot of flavor and texture. The service is amazing with friendly and fun staff (just the right amount to make the evening extra special) Just wow! My favorite restaurant in Montreal from now on! (Oh! And we loved the call a few hours prior to ask for allergies and if it was a special occasion, we loved the little attention for our anniversary while we were dining).
Update: Went back 1 month after and recognized me. Service was still amazing, food was still incredible and they made a special dessert for us as we asked for no chocolate! So nice and delicious!! Thanks to the chef and team for making our dinner such a wonderful experience!
This restaurant is amazing. The food is very good and tasty. We really liked the differents textures in the meal and the diversity of the 7 services. The service was also very good. The only negative point is that it took 3h30 to serve every meals. I would recommend you to either have a lot of time or ask your waiter to speed up the service between each meals.

Pastel is a restaurant truly worthy of all it's fanfare and accolades. They are consistently found on lists of Canada's top restaurants and so, it was a no brainer for us to choose Pastel as the restaurant where we wanted to celebrate our mini-moon (mini honeymoon).
We went with the Vert tasting menu which normally consists of 5 courses, however, the staff knowing it was our mini-moon, kept surprising us with little treats and surprises.
Our server was friendly and attentive, the kitchen staff were all lovely and some of the chefs even came to our table to check in on us.
The service was on par if not better than some of the Michelin Star and World's Best restaurants we've been to.
The food was spectacular. It was inventive, creative and refreshing. Each plate was made with careful precision and the quality of the ingredients shone throughout.
I have already recommended Pastel to many friends and family and will no doubt return to eat again when back in Montreal.
Overall, enthusiastically recommend.

Pastel is a great name for this place. The dishes are subtle and refined, with nasal flavor rather than thick and deep. It's a really aerial experience.
Service was absolutely great and wine pairing was a blast. Absolutely recommanded.

Hands down one of the best culinary experience in Canada.
Food : The attention to detail, the techniques employed and the perfect mix of textures made this 6-course meal a divine experience. 10/10
Service: Our lovely waitress offered an outstanding service, and the sommelier, Olivier, truly helped to elevate our night. Too-class service. 10/10
Wine pairings: Absolutely perfect. 10/10
Decor and ambiance : It’s a more laid-back decor than Toque or Europea would offer, but still classy and enjoyable. 8.5/10

Imagine you are seated in a wonderfully intimate gallery, surrounded by paintings, tapestries and sculptures you have never before seen. It is kaleidoscopic, a blizzard of textures, shapes and scents. It would almost be overwhelming but at your side are exemplary guides, gently explaining each new creation when it is set before you. Then, when you have taken it all in, something unusual occurs. You Eat the Art. That is the Pastel experience.
It is my pleasure and my passion to explore the interplay of food and wine. I have done so for more than 40 years in more than 60 cities. Pastel is now in my top three.
For nearly five hours as I dined solo, attended by team members Alex, Haley and Olivier, I savoured the creations of Chef Julien Robillard. And with each course came a superb wine pairing - one chosen not for fame or pedigree but for its ability to further enhance the experience. In fact, there comes a moment when you realize that there is a theme to all this, and it's being executed brilliantly.
Happily, since Pastel is in Montreal, I'll be able to return on occasion. For now, to those of you who share the passion, I can only say this. Go to Pastel. Eat the Art!
