Jun I is definitely at the top of the sushi food chain in Montreal alongside Park. They are creative with their rolls but not at the expense of the quality of the ingredients. They respect their fish and serve you top quality, fresh pieces. I booked a week ago because I was craving some uni and this is one of the only places in town that I would trust to serve me fresh ones. Arrived there and was told it's unavailable tonight. Annoying? No, reassuring. I was told the toro is good today. It was melt-in-your-mouth awesome!
If you've been eating sushi at our favorite local shop, do yourself a favour and go eat here.
This place is quality; the sushi was incredibly fresh and tasty. They have a great variety of fish, and all dishes had a really nice presentation . The service was fine , the decor and ambince is ok but not as high-end as their food . Go there for the sushi!
Superb fish. Probably sushi I have ever had. I’m originally from Vancouver and currently living in Toronto. The spicy hamachi was our favorite of the night. The only thing was that they gave us wooden take out chopsticks and I would’ve preferred something a little nicer to match the rest of the vibe. Great waiters and staff who are trained well and have good knowledge of the fish. However this could be just because of COVID so it’s not a big deal and I will definitely be coming back.
Great experience. We took the sélection du chef. Omakase is only available for dinner. Hand soap in the bathroom is fancy. Everything is very clean
Delicious sushi. large selection of fresh fish. Intimate and cozy place, people are nice doesn’t feel pretentious. Amazing cocktails. Best sushi restaurant in mtl.
A very good overall experience! A casual vibe and cozy spot with delicious food. We took the omakase and everything was excellent and creative
I’ve had the pleasure of dining here twice & at both times, I was wowed by the quality of the food and the service.
Everything is always fresh and meticulously prepared, down to the most minute detail. The sushi melts in your mouth and leaves you with a lasting impression (I was craving for it as soon as the next day!) The sashimi was impeccable, probably the best I’ve had so far in Montreal.
Service is always courteous and attentive. Amazing place for dinner on any day! Thank you, Chef Junichi! We’ll definitely be back for more.
