The food was great! I especially liked the way they seasoned their lobster which tasted better than the seasoned lobster at most chinese restaurants. I also liked the duck that they served, we had a combination where half of the duck was eaten in these wraps and the other half was mixed in with rice and flavouring to create a tantalizing rice dish. Strongly recommend! Will be back if possible.
Dim sum here is good. Service is meh. Compare to other dim sum places in Mississauga, this place by far is the best for food wise and would prefer this place over emeralds.
So I've been here for dinner and also for dim sum and I must say dinner the prices are a bit more than what I'm use too but it was good! What I really love about this restaurant was dim sum! It's was so boom and that's why I'm giving it a 4! The dim sum was fresh and they have different items and some regular items that had a little twist which was amazing and the price was great for dim sum! If you like dim sum and is in the area check it out!
Nelson: This newly renovated restaurant took their huge dining room and shrunk it a bit, but replaced it with a nice lobby. They had a focus on seafood, specifically large lobsters and crab, but on this night we tried the Peking duck. The service was extremely slow on this night (mother's day weekend) so we got a free soup to tide us over. It was really meaty and also had pear.
Cartoon dim sum has been the craze in Hong Kong, where steamed buns with cartoon faces are squeezed with the filling oozing out to make it seem like it's vomiting (or the other way around). It was only a matter of time that it was picked up here in the GTA, particularly in Mississauga at Blue Lagoon Seafood Master.
I had the pleasure of attending a media tasting at Blue Lagoon Seafood Master about two weeks ago. Blue Lagoon Seafood Master served traditional Chinese cuisine, including seafood, BBQ, and also daily dim sum. The restaurant was large, inviting, and customers were greeted with tanks of fresh lobsters and crabs at the entrance. I have been here on several occasions for dinner, as it's closed by to our place in Mississauga. However, we have always ordered from their seafood menu, so this was my first time trying their dim sum. I have never had dim sum for dinner, so this was also an interesting first-time experience.
Both of the cartoon dim sums were egg yolk buns containing a generous amount of egg yolk inside. The buns were a good combination of savory and salty. The novelty of the buns was that you need to poke a hole with your chopsticks, and then squeeze the bun for the egg yolk to squirt out. They are definitely a great photo-op for social media, but remember to do it fast, as the egg yolk hardens. Blue Lagoon Seafood Master will have a limited supply per day, so go early to ensure that you get to try some.
In addition to the new items, we also got to taste an array of dim sum dishes. Blue Lagoon Seafood Master has quite an extensive selection of dim sum like har gow, siu mai, steamed scallop dumpling with dried minced pork, steamed chicken feet with house sauce, steamed veterinarian dumpling, and more. It was definitely a great dim sum feast!!
Blue Lagoon Seafood Master also offers happy hour pricing, which is $3 for any size before 11 am. Regular prices are S - $2.60, M - $3.60, L - $4.60, and XL - $5.50. Overall, I found the portions to be pretty generous, and they definitely do not skimped out on the fillings for the dumplings, and buns. Dim sum is available everyday from 9 am to 4 pm.
Dimsum here is average, although the ambience, decor and large size of the restaurant are very impressive. Upon entry, one will be greeted with aquariums filled with giant lobsters, humongous crabs and little rays (is this even legal, I wonder?). The food though is average, and usually I expect amazing food from Toronto, but in terms of dim sum, I'd say my favourite places in Ottawa is better than this one. I do like that they have differing sizes for their dishes - ordered a noodle dish and did not expect it to be as large as it did - my family could not finish it. They don't have the traditional roll around carts that I'm used to in Ottawa - all the orders have to be placed before hand on an order sheet. It's good Dim sum, but i don't think I'd venture back to Missisauga for this place. I'd rather go to Markham for Dim sum.
This place is expensive if you plan on getting all the premium dishes. Place looks amazing but we will most likely not come here again because of the price.
Blue Lagoon is probably one of the most impressive dim sum restaurants I've seen West of Yonge St in all of Toronto. Almost all the dim sum places that I've loved have all been in Richmond Hill, Markham, or Scarborough, but it seems Mississauga is trying to bring it too.
The place is located in the Chinese Center of Mississauga so its already a good start. They are set up like every major dim sum banquet restaurant where the decor seems so fancy, but the only important question is: how good is your food?
We ordered a wide variety of items (WAY too much for 4 people), but it's OK, we can handle this. I'll start with the har gow which is how I usually judge a dim sum place. Their shrimp dumplings were pretty good. The skin held together and the filling inside was not overly done with sesame oil. Most of their dishes like the chicken feet, sticky rice in lotus leaf, shrimp rice roll, and shu mai were all very good. The shu mai were some of the best I've had actually and it comes with garlic flakes dancing atop it (don't be worried if it looks alive).
Definitely worth coming to, especially with how limited the Chinese selection is around Mississauga. I didn't even think a place like this existed out west. You could get lost in all the chains, Indian, and Hakka food, but it's nice to stumble across a familiar place, at least for me.

Amazing!!! The food was delicious, hot and well presented. The service was quick and attentive.
The atmosphere and decor was great. The space is large with lots of action and people but the noise is not overwhelming.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant for amazing dim sum.
