Chop Steakhouse & Bar

Incredible food. Amazing service. Brilliant plating/presentation of food. You can tell they are and take pride in their work. From front of house to back of house, we had a flawless experience. WAY better than the Keg. Our food came out so quickly I was so impressed. Their smoked rib eye and filet mignon are to die for. I haven't had meat this well prepared at a restaurant in a long time. Seriously, I don't see how anyone could complain about this place. I love the decor and atmosphere too and our server was super great to talk with. Would recommend. Will probably be back in the next week or two. I'm already craving the rib eye again. Johnny was our server. He's fantastic!

Nice heated outdoor seating. Delicious Ceasars. Crab cakes were excellent and the honey goat cheese mushroom appetizer was so flavorful. I had the Steak Oscar and it was pretty good. The sauce separated from the heat of the plate, some bites of meat were a little chewy but the scallops were cooked to perfection.

This was my first experience at CHOP because I am usually a " The Keg" kind of person. The location looks modern and well appointed. I have to commend the wait staff because they were trained the proper way. Our waiter John was attentive, friendly and helpful. I give them all 5 stars really. I really do not like the booths at this location. They are so uncomfortable. Perhaps for a party of 2, then it will be perfect. But for a party of 4 adults with jacket and coats, it really is a let down. There is no place to hang your jackets. The person who led us to the booth mentioned that they can bring a coat rack. But it never came. For the record, I never asked to be moved and be seated at a table. Around 7-8PM as the dinner crowds arrived, the temperature in the restaurant became really hot and a bit unbearable. I can see that some other guests began to take off their sport jackets and sweaters etc. You get the point. If this was the dead of winter, I can understand. But it is late April ...why is the heat still blasting away??? The food is a mix bag and it may be a case of YMMV. I believe that the steaks / prime rib ( Beef ) items are fantastic. But their seafood offerings leave a bit more to be desired. The crab cakes ( appetizer ) lacked any crab taste / flavour at all. And I have had my share of crab cakes all along the US East Coast and in the Maritimes. The miso glazed salmon was not very tasty I am afraid. I really expected more chef skills and freshness on this dish. Perhaps choosing the method of baking this dish is the issue. I am not sure really. To this end, I will not return. But I have to say that I saw many happy faces among the families, friends etc. that were enjoying their time here. Please drop in and give them a try and then let us all know what your thoughts are. The ambiance is great, the drinks were yummy, the steak was to die for, but the service! Maybe I forgot what it's like out in the world as it was only my second outing since being in lock down, but the staff are amazing. My party and I felt very well taken care of from the moment we walked in. Loved every bit of my experience at the Chop!

I was here for a bachelor party. Only 8 of us but we received excellent service. We were joking around with our waitress and having a great time catching up with friends with great conversation. The drinks and food were excellent. I got the 20oz ribeye steak and I was not disappointed. Excellent flavor and cooked perfectly medium rare. I will have to go back because it was such a great experience and I really enjoyed the food.
