The food is good. The staff are friendly. And the atmosphere is nice.
The Benedict was like any other Benedict I've had, nothing special.
Their little patty that came on the side of the omlette was a bit weird though, not really our cup of tea.
I'd eat here again if opportunity arises.
There might be a wait. They will text when ready. The coffee is excellent inside a large mug. I hardly ever order pancakes, the icing suger drizzle with blueberries did not have a chance. Bacon seemed like it was done in the oven. Eggs Benedict was also excellent. The atmosphere is very relaxed.
Darlise Cafe is an easy to miss brunch spot in downtown Kitchener. But don’t let the lack of curb appeal fool you. They make a great brunch for a reasonable price.
The host, server and kitchen staff were all super kind and accommodating. I ordered Eggs Benedict from the special Oktoberfest menu. The egg was cooked perfectly. The hollandaise sauce could have used a little salt, but otherwise great. The potato pancake was also pretty good, and a welcome alternative to the typical home style potatoes you’d expect for brunch. We also tried the French Toast which was also pretty decent.
What I appreciated most about Darlise Cafe was the lack of gimmicks and pretension you typically get at brunch places these days. It was just simple, straightforward, well done brunch.
