I have eaten at a lot of restaurants in Hamilton/Toronto, and I have to say this is my favourite one! I always come back to it. Being Korean myself I love having a sense of home in every bite I take. The rice is perfectly sticky, and the food is very authentic. This is by far the best Korean restaurant in all of Hamilton or even Toronto. I live all the way in Toronto and I sometimes happen to be in the area to grab a bite. Even when I'm at home and craving some good Korean food, I make the trip all the way to hamilton. The restaurant is familly owned and the owner/familly are very welcoming. The restaurant is in a very convenient area. Downtown Hamilton is only a 5 min. walk from the restaurant. Perfect restaurant for famillies that want a taste of authentic Korean food.
Yummy soup and great service!. I ordered gamjatang(pork bone soup), there was alot of meat and the soup was flavourful. For the service, the owner was very nice and paid attention to us, so service was great. Overall if your craving some korean food this is the place.
The soups and the beef ribs are the better dishes there. The serving staff are friendly and the value of the food is good.

Rice was perfect, everything else was also wonderful!. I went to this place with my daughter and a friend. My friend had a stone bowl with rice ( name sounded like bipibu or something similar) on the bottom, vegetables, tofu ( she is a vegetarian) and a fried egg on the top. She was told by the waiter to cut the egg into the dish and mix it up. She reported the meal was delicious. My daughter and i ordered beef dishes ( hers was in a stone bowl in a soup with vegetable and mine was fried with onions and mushrooms) the flavour was sweet and a little spicy. I loved it and have craved it since. The rice was kind of a sticky type that was the best rice i had ever tasted. It tasted just as good the next day. there was so much on each dish we all had leftovers the next day. we also ordered spring rolls to star- absolutely lovely with a sweet sauce on top and fried bananas to finish meal. If I were to have anything to say to improve the meal it would be a caramel sauce should be served with the bananas. they were very good alone but could be better with sauce. I will be back again for sure.
Lunch. 4 of us went for lunch feb 20th and really enjoyed it, food was hot fresh and very tastey.. Portions were really big and service friendly. Will def go again A plus from us!!
Very, very good! Tempura shrimp are fantastic! Beef dishes tender and tasty. Will go again.
Service was slightly off, but wasn't a big hindrance. The portions are good and the food was filling.
Awesome Pork Bone Soup, Overall Good Portions/Prices.. The pork bone soup is personally the best I’ve had in/near Toronto – excellent flavour, generous portions of meat, nice level of spiciness, in a hot stone bowl. Been here twice so far w/ my girlfriend and overall I find the food is above-average compared to other Korean restaurants I’ve been to, also good value and location for us being McMaster students.
Alirang is located on the corner of Main St and Locke St. It’s quite difficult to find parking because they only have a few spots at the back. I suggest parking on Locke St and walking over. I’ve been here a few times because they have good service and food. The decor is dated, homey and pink. It’s like eating at home! Once seated, we were served delicious cups of hot tea, corn tea? Most of the time I order the same things, I really need to try other dishes.
Side dishes come with every meal if you eat at a Korean restaurant. The most common sides are kimchi, fish cakes, bean sprouts, seaweed, radishes, sweetened potatoes, pickled cucumbers and so on. With our meal, we were served kimchi, spicy bean sprouts, sweetened potatoes and seaweed. All were delicious, you can also refill these sides for free.
