What an awesome coffee shop! Tucked away in the Alexander Keith building, it's the perfect location for a low key coffee break. Lots of outlets to recharge your phone... And lots of coffee drinks, and food to recharge yourself! Highly recommend.

I was first introduced to Coffee Matters in St. John’s and have fallen in love with their food at the Halifax location. My current lunch-break go-tos are the turkey avocado sandwich and the NL turkey dressing sandwich - both are amazing. The food is reasonably priced and the staff are amazing. I went in not knowing what to order - and the staff were so friendly and made great recommendations!

Probably some of the best coffee on the peninsula. Smoothest espresso you can get. Their baked goods are also fresh and tasty, and some of their grilled sandwiches are a solid 10/10. The atmosphere is also really nice, set in the historic old brewery. Overall this is a really great cafe!

I've only been once now but it looks really nice, and I enjoyed the iced coffee they made me, plus the cinnamon coffee cake muffin was delicious. There's a few doors available to get into the cafe: one outside the brewery entrance, one inside the brewery entrance, and another near the courtyard space inside the brewery; it seems the door off the courtyard would be their handicap-accessible entrance since none of the doors have an automated button and the door from outside involves a step. The menu prices seem reasonable and their short food menu sounds good to try! They've got some neat art of Halifax up inside too.

Coffee definitely does matter. And they have got that right. The coffee here is exquisite. It just needs a little bit more Ambience and it would be a fantastic place to go. Great seating arrangement for people to hang out and do some studying. Love the location at is downtown the only problem is it's tucked so far away that it is a little bit difficult to spot. But if you do stumble upon this little gem go in and treat yourself it is worth it

Just had a large flat white, with two shots instead of three - so smooth, and the perfect temperature. The milk is not burnt but is nevertheless hot, something that can be hard to come by. Added bonus not to dismiss: friendly service! Great coffee, nice café.
