After a crazy hot day out group of nine finally made it to Keith’s. We made the decision to eat at the Red Stag Tavern. The food and service was off the chart. Emilee was great with the kids. They also offered charging stations on the patio for our phones. I highly recommend this place. We had the fish and chips, Mac and Cheese, Calamari, Sweet Potatoes and an amazing homemade burger.
I stopped in with a few friends Saturday evening and I have to say 100% I will be back, food was great and the staff was wonderful, Emily our waitress never left me with an empty glass, gave great advice with the menu and was a lot of fun. Prices were very reasonable, food was hot, beer was cold staff was friendly, helpful and easy on the eyes what more could you ask for
I always enjoy a visit to the Red Stag. Today hubby and I shared the veggie quesadilla, which was nice and crisp and well filled. For mains we both had the pan fried haddock, which was served with wild rice and vegetables and was perfectly cooked. The portions were very generous, so we ended up taking a piece of cheesecake home with us for later. This had a blueberry sauce and was also delicious. Our server was very friendly and efficient. I have never been disappointed at the Stag.
This is one of my favourite places to eat. The service is always fast and friendly and the food excellent. On this latest visit, I had the stir fry, which was hot and delicious; my son thoroughly enjoyed the fish and chips. The fish was perfectly cooked with a thin, crisp batter. You should also try the pan-fried haddock, another favourite of mine, and the stuffed chicken is also superb.
I have visited the Reg Stag a number of times and I always leave very satisfied, the service, the food, the atmosphere is always great. My last visit I had the stuffed chicken as wanted to have something different and once again it was excellent and I would definitely recommend it. This is a definite place to visit while along the Halifax waterfront
Stopped in for a cold one while walking Halifax. Great cold beer and conversation with Gordo. Neat place next to the Keiths brewery. Take the tour; its neat.
Friendly folks/good food. Has become our go to place mainly because of the fish n chips, steak and clubhouse sammies.
Friday before the game. My wife and I and another guest visited the Red Stag Friday before the Moosehead game. Our server Evan ensured that our experience was an excellent one. Each of us ordered a different item from the menu and each of us enjoyed our meals. The atmosphere, menu pricing and amazing service will bring us back again and again.

Worth the drive. We live in Cole Harbour and my wife and I feel it is worth the drive on the weekend to have great pub food. I have tried almost every burger on the menu. Each one was good and I would recommend them. the fish and chips is my wife' favourite.
I work close by and have enjoyed many lunches here. My personal favourite lunch special is Pan fried Haddock. Excellent value. Big fan of the Red Stag

Me and my husband just love the Red Stag! They have great food and amazing service! Its a great atmosphere and kid friendly too!
We also had my husbands surprise birthday party in their private room upstairs and it was fantastic! There is lots of space and tables to accommodate a lot of people comfortably and the service and food was just awesome! It was an amazing night and we would surely do it again!

Good fish and chips. Servers were nice and food was quick. Could use a little more attention from our server as we did not receive cutlery or napkins. We were promptly given cutlery when we asked, however no napkins. They were getting a bit busy during that time and with it being seat yourself this is bound to happen from time to time. Overall, still a good meal and would return again.
Great atmosphere, good food and friendly service staff coupled with a beautiful, historic building make this place a must-visit if you're looking for a pub style experience with some style.

I frequent the Red Stag year round, as it is close to the waterfront boardwalk and has a great patio in the summertime. The food is always tasty and prompt. The staff are friendly and easy going, making the experience very enjoyable. The burgers are great, and the Mac n Cheese is amazing, to name a couple of my regular dishes. I havent had anything that I was not pleased with fully. I would recommend this place to everyone!
The food was pretty good. We went because we got a Groupon. Service was fast and good, the waitress checked on us often and our food arrived quite quickly. Only a four star review because the bathroom smelled quite strongly of urine when I visited and is in a poor state, with broken stall doors and soap dispenser.
My husband and I consider this one of our fav places to go whether for a quick snack and a cold brew or a full meal. Food is well prepared, well presented and quick and friendly service. Patrons are greeted coming and going. The staff is always ready to please and the ambiance of the historic building gives that relaxing old pub feeling of coming home. Love this place!
The Red Stag Tavern is right around the corner from where I live. I have never had a bad experience there. The food is awesome, with lots of variety on the menu. My personal favorite is the fish and chips... definitely the best in Halifax!. I have brought several out of town guests there, and they have all loved their experiences there as well!
