Honestly, I can't wait to go back! The food was so delicious and fresh. Big serving sizes for a great price. It was busy but the server never missed a beat with us or the other customers. Everyone there seemed happy to be there. The ambience was relaxed but fun. Highly recommend it!!
I’ve been wanting to try authentic Japanese ramen for a couple of years now, and now that I’ve finally had a chance, DANG!! I was very impressed with the food and the friendly manner of the staff puts a lot of other restaurants of *any* stripe to shame. I highly recommend this place and will be coming back!!
This is one of the best Japanese ramen restaurants in Edmonton. The standard is very close to what I have tasted in Japan.
May be only this one in Edmonton, you can manually ground your own sesames before putting on to the noodle soup. This enhances the sesame's flavor much better. By looking at my photos, you would like to taste it? The fried chicken is also good. But I would say Ma Chef (Korean restaurant) is better. The dessert , red bean cake was deep fried for too long. I wish it would be better next time. But my main goal is for Japanese ramen.
Food was amazing, I loved their melon cream soda float, it reminded me of the shrek float that existed in the early 2000's 😂 appetizers were a hit!
I got the tonkatsu Black sesame ramen and it was really good, enough to satisfy my ramen craving
Miso ramen was really good too!
Server was super duper nice, and the environment inside was very cute
Looking forward to coming back soon!
This cute little spot is tucked away on the west side of Edmonton. Some would say after eating there if you didn’t know about them before, they’re a hidden secret now.
The menu was full of delicious options to choose from. I loved to see the vegetarian ramen for those whom aren’t meat lovers but still get the same bang for their buck. The ingredients were fresh and the flavours were top shelf.
I’m a noodle lover and always on the hunt for the best spot to get a good bowl of ramen. My ramen was amazing, paired with toasty Gyozas. This place did not disappoint and will definitely be added to my list of go to places in the city.
The best Japanese restaurant in Edmonton. We ordered Kazoku classic ramen and Tonkatsu curry rice. The soup is so rich and delightful. The curry is very good as well. We even ordered dessert - purin and mudjar. Everything is great. Definitely come back.
However, the service is terrible.
I went on Saturday after work and the food was great. I ordered the melon cream soda and was very pleased that its actually melon soda.
I ordered gyoza and curry katsu and both were very good. The gyzoa was slightly over crisped but I enjoyed it none the less. You get a lot of curry when you get the Curry Katsu. I felt bad I wasn't able to eat all of it.
Afterwards I ordered some Takiyaki without the ice cream. If you've had Takiyaki at some other places you may have experienced it cold. Well they cook it properly here and it's very hot, temperature wise. I'd 1000% recommend it but just know its red bean paste. I love red bean paste but some people don't like it.
Overall the restaurant was clean and the food was nice.
Near the end of the experienced the staff became more chatty and nice but they were never rude.
Definitely will go back and if you like Japanese food recommend you visit.
Kazoku is probably the premier place to get ramen here in YEG! The service was thoughtful, welcoming and warm! The Chicken Karaage was awesome! The crispiness and the tenderness of the chicken was a great way to start the meal! I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen. AMAZING! The broth was a perfect blend of savoury and smooth, with a touch of aromatics! The garnishes and noodles were delightful, coming together to make a quintessential ramen experience!
