Review Kazoku Ramen - Edmonton

This is one of the best Japanese ramen restaurants in Edmonton. The standard is very close to what I have tasted in Japan. May be only this one in Edmonton, you can manually ground your own sesames before putting on to the noodle soup. This enhances the sesame's flavor much better. By looking at my photos, you would like to taste it? The fried chicken is also good. But I would say Ma Chef (Korean restaurant) is better. The dessert , red bean cake was deep fried for too long. I wish it would be better next time. But my main goal is for Japanese ramen.

Food was amazing, I loved their melon cream soda float, it reminded me of the shrek float that existed in the early 2000's šŸ˜‚ appetizers were a hit! I got the tonkatsu Black sesame ramen and it was really good, enough to satisfy my ramen craving Miso ramen was really good too! Server was super duper nice, and the environment inside was very cute Looking forward to coming back soon!

Food is ok but service is terrible. The older lady is rude. My aunt was by the door waiting for my uncle to come in, and holding the door, the lady pulled the door closed without telling my aunt and said, You're letting the virus in!! šŸ„“ We waited for 20 mins before our orders were taken, the younger server is nice though. It's a good thing that the food is ok to compensate for the bad service. Not coming back though!!

This cute little spot is tucked away on the west side of Edmonton. Some would say after eating there if you didnā€™t know about them before, theyā€™re a hidden secret now. The menu was full of delicious options to choose from. I loved to see the vegetarian ramen for those whom arenā€™t meat lovers but still get the same bang for their buck. The ingredients were fresh and the flavours were top shelf. Iā€™m a noodle lover and always on the hunt for the best spot to get a good bowl of ramen. My ramen was amazing, paired with toasty Gyozas. This place did not disappoint and will definitely be added to my list of go to places in the city.

The best Japanese restaurant in Edmonton. We ordered Kazoku classic ramen and Tonkatsu curry rice. The soup is so rich and delightful. The curry is very good as well. We even ordered dessert - purin and mudjar. Everything is great. Definitely come back. However, the service is terrible.

I went on Saturday after work and the food was great. I ordered the melon cream soda and was very pleased that its actually melon soda. I ordered gyoza and curry katsu and both were very good. The gyzoa was slightly over crisped but I enjoyed it none the less. You get a lot of curry when you get the Curry Katsu. I felt bad I wasn't able to eat all of it. Afterwards I ordered some Takiyaki without the ice cream. If you've had Takiyaki at some other places you may have experienced it cold. Well they cook it properly here and it's very hot, temperature wise. I'd 1000% recommend it but just know its red bean paste. I love red bean paste but some people don't like it. Overall the restaurant was clean and the food was nice. Near the end of the experienced the staff became more chatty and nice but they were never rude. Definitely will go back and if you like Japanese food recommend you visit.

It was a really cold day in YEG so we decided to go for ramen. We went to Kazoku based on the reviews and we were left quite disappointed after our meal. Upon arrival we got checked for vaccine passport and got sat at our table right away. We were really excited for our first experience at Kazoku, we scanned the online menu and was kinda suprised that there was not that many options compared to other Ramen places. We sat at our table for over 40min, no one came to talk to us or even offered us at least water or even to come and acknowledge us just to let us know that they are aware that we are ā€œhereā€ or even a quick ā€œweā€™re so sorry weā€™re quite busy and only have one waitressā€ we would have been fine; (we started timing it after waiting 15 min and no one came to talk to us and all we saw was one waitress running around by herself paying attention to the same two tables and the person that checked us in was busy checking people in and taking payment). We were getting ready to leave when finally the waitress came to take our order (still no water) so we decided to order and give them another chance as it was not the waitressā€™ fault that she had no other helper. We ordered the squid karaage (which was delicious, the squid was not over cooked and it was full of flavor), the Tonkotsu creamy pork ramen (the portion was small compared to the big bowl it came in and the broth was good but nothing extraordinary) and the Japanese Char siu rice bowl (the pork was bland and dry therefore there was nothing flavorful to eat with the rice). Iā€™m not sure if this was a one off thing considering all the positive reviews but will probably try a different ramen place next time.

Kazoku is probably the premier place to get ramen here in YEG! The service was thoughtful, welcoming and warm! The Chicken Karaage was awesome! The crispiness and the tenderness of the chicken was a great way to start the meal! I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen. AMAZING! The broth was a perfect blend of savoury and smooth, with a touch of aromatics! The garnishes and noodles were delightful, coming together to make a quintessential ramen experience!

Honestly, I can't wait to go back! The food was so delicious and fresh. Big serving sizes for a great price. It was busy but the server never missed a beat with us or the other customers. Everyone there seemed happy to be there. The ambience was relaxed but fun. Highly recommend it!!

Iā€™ve been wanting to try authentic Japanese ramen for a couple of years now, and now that Iā€™ve finally had a chance, DANG!! I was very impressed with the food and the friendly manner of the staff puts a lot of other restaurants of *any* stripe to shame. I highly recommend this place and will be coming back!! ļæ½

The best Ramen I've ever had. Went here with my best friend for my Birthday, didn't disappoint! My friend and I loved the service, the quality, quantity, and price of the food! Very satisfied customer!

My favourite Ramen restaurant, and most likely my favourite restaurant! I make a point to come at least once a month. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, and the food is always delicious. It's a very satisfying experience.

This place is so good. We had the spicy miso ramen, chilli goma, and started with some fried octopus. All the food was delicious. The staff were great and the owner, Gina, was very nice. We will be back over and over again.

Kazoku Ramen is my favourite go-to restaurant when I don't feel like cooking or have a ramen craving (which is often). Their noodles are second to none in my books; they are thick and the texture is chewy, just as they should be. The broth is flavourful and the service is amazing! They've come a long way since their opening almost a year ago and have made many improvements. The new summer special menu is a must try and nice change up from the usual items. I can't wait till their Godzilla bowl comes out! I highly recommend this place :) The fools who give bad ratings clearly don't know what good food is.

This is some of the best Ramen I have ever had, full of flavor, generous portions and the owner is a very pleasant lady, I've only been here twice but every time I come from bc I go here, better than all the Ramen in Vancouver by far!!! Keep up the amazing work.

My friends, I like eating so much I do it at least three times a day... and I always pay attention to the soup taste/temperature and the noodle texture. Sure, if the char siu pork, delicious half-boiled egg and sweet naruto didn't do it for you, then the crisp noodles and awesome customer-first atmosphere will. I'd be happy to inform you that this is one of, if not the most, authentic ramen place currently in Edmonton. The soup, ranging from Kazoku, less salty, to the saltier varieties of the spectrum will give you a chance to try them all. Highly recommended and I'm a repeat customer.

We went on the second "official" night open and the food was fantastic. The servers were friendly and efficient even though the place was swamped! We had the chicken karage, which was amazing, and two huge delicious bowls of kazoku ramen, so much we couldn't even finish. The noodles were perfect and the toppings were generous. We will definitely be back!

Tonkotsu ramen is great! Try this special when you visit this place. Owner is friendly. A family business that lives up with the quality of food. They have some spicy ramen too.

Their spicy garlic ramen I crave for it all the time. Well worth the 25 minute drive

One of my favourite places in the city. Food is awesome, and the service is always friendly and informed. Working my way through the menu one bowl at a time. YUM!

Amazing ramen, great prices! I really loved the Chicken Karaage too; perfectly tender chicken with a crunchy and non-greasy coating. Loved the hand painted mural, it really adds a cozy ambiance to the restaurant. Would highly recommend!

Good ramen, but the chicken karaage is probably my favourite! The staff are always very friendly and they really care about their customers. I travel all the way from Sherwood Park to eat here and it's totally worth it!
