Now this is COTW I can get down with. This location definitely does it right.
We ordered 2 family meals along with some extra sides and a couple extra orders of fritters. Everything was cooked to perfection...the McKenzie Towne location should take some notes from these guys on how to cook fries. They were perfectly crispy and seasoned just right.
I will definitely make sure to come here the next time I craving some greasy dead bird and fritters.
I'm not sure about the negative reviews, but I've never had a problem. Hot, good, cheap, standard Chicken on the Way. It's best eaten right in the car after you get it.
I'm sure nothing beats homemade fried chicken like my grandma used to make, but this is the best stuff I have tried in Calgary. The meat is firm and juicy, you can tell its good quality. The skin is crispy and good, maybe a tad greasy for some but hello it is FRIED chicken. Miles ahead of the garbage you get at KFC or the like. Fries are very tasty in my opinion and they give you a good portion. I love the corn fritters, although I can't eat too many. Recently tried the coleslaw and it was very good. I'm pregnant and had a craving for something tart and tangy. It hit the spot. Again miles ahead of the mushy garbage you will get at KFC for double the price. The prices are fair here. I would recommend if you have a hankering for decent fried chicken and sides.
Good Chicken. I thought the chicken was very good!!! By the way, when you have it for take out, it's very HOT!! Don't leave it in the box they give you for very long. With all the steam it will get soggy. You know everything tastes better when you were a kid. KFC doesn't taste the same but it still good. I would have to say the service was not that great tho. The people are not that friendly.oh... by the way the chicken was not some old hen. it was fresh chicken. I'll go back just for the chicken tho.
