I suggested to L that we have dinner at Long’s Chinese. I thought Szechuan food would help me burn the toxins that were slowly crippling my body. For this post, let’s listen to Dani California by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
The spicy food was really impressed me! The price is good and the only thing I concern was the parking if you hit the peak time. I definitely recommend the beef and fish.
My favorite restaurant in Calgary period. If you’re looking for chicken ball, ginger beef (or other Canadian Chinese food) this is probably not for you.
The food is absolutely tasty, and the owner always take the time to help me with the menu. This is pretty much our go-to place for dinner this year and I am not exaggerating (my wife and I pretty much go there at least once every week to try out different dishes). Items I strongly recommend include:
A1. Shredded Beef & Beef Trip in Chili Sauce
P5. Shredded Pork with Chili & Garlic Sauce
F2. Boiled Sliced Fish Filet with Chili
B1. Boiled Sliced Beef & Vegetables in Spicy Soup
Long's is my favorite restaurant in Calgary. My favorite dishes are P2, F2, and V22. Leftover take-out is equally delicious and if you take home the fish dish the spicy soup base can be added to anything for fabulous packed lunches. Beers are ice cold and the staff is very friendly. Five stars out of five.
Insanely good!. Just amazed to have a place serving the real deal Szechuan food that doesn't hold back the spice in a neighbourhood that's rich with lots of great ethnic options but with horrible Chinese food. Diced chicken with peanuts (it's called Kung Pao elsewhere), dan dan noodles, eggplant with garlic sauce, basically every bite I've had here has been mesmerizing.
Ignore the fake review from "Max" as there is NO FRIED RICE on the menu here aside from on one lunch combo- you'd never have ordered it for a table because it's not on the menu. I hate the shills but even more hate the one-review wonders who post lies slagging a new (at the time) restaurant that everybody in Calgary should be rushing to.
This place is my top new restaurant for 2013- yes, it's that good.
