We are in town from Cincinnati, Ohio & we had a great experience at Commonwealth Bar & Stage! Our bottle girl Madeline was so attentive and provided the best service! I would definitely recommend this bar to anyone & everyone! The music was also 10/10!
Didn’t give stars on food cause we didn’t get any plus I don’t think they have food.
But onto the review:
Went to Commonwealth was for my friend’s bachelor party. The atmosphere and service was amazing! We did bottle service and Anya was serving us and she did amazing! Her service was spot on and kept the vibe going!
Would definitely go back when we visit again.
The upper level gets too tight evertime were here, and it's had to actually dance and have fun. The basement club was really fun! My friends and I are always there. I wish the light effects improve cause when they do flashing lights, it only last for 2 sec.
Venue is a nice size and music was great. Bouncers were also very nice and got us in quickly. Thank you especially to Tyson who arranged our guest list and bottle service. He was the BEST host! Also, thank you to our bottle service girl, Anya! Wonderful service.
Saturdays at commonwealth are really fun and crowded. Usually the cover charges are $15 however if you book in advance to get in the guest list then it's free
Great venu for shows. Sound quality was really good. There were enough bars to make it easy and quick to get drinks all night. They seemed to be doing a pretty good job checking vaccine status etc.. at the door.
I saw USS here and they put on an amazing show. I will for sure be keeping an eye on any other bands that will be playing at Commonwealth
Great venue sound and bathrooms. No tall cans tho
Small bar and stage for smaller bands. Went to see Rare Americans live. Drove all the way from Edmonton. $3.15 for Friday parking from 4pm-6am Saturday. In parking lot just a block north. I didn't buy any drinks because I had to drive back to Edmonton and it was bad weather.
My daughter and I went here for a Drag Show!! Absolutely amazing!! So fun and the bartender we had was amazing!! I didn't win my silent auction but the fun we had made up for it. 😊😊
Great when you are there to see live performances! There isnt much parking options as it IS downtown Calgary, but there is a lot of drop off space for cabs/Ubers. The alcohol prices are average ($8 - $10/ drink), but a little on the smaller side - nothing new for bars. No food obviously, but the atmosphere is pretty great. The floors weren't sticky, the air didn't smell bad, the atmosphere didn't read "skeezy." Regarding the music: live bands are amazing, but you can definitely tell who gets more time to test their equipment prior to performing. Opening gigs had a different sound that the main performance and it wasn't the band (I have personally heard the openers before and they had quality sound), but that didn't change the enjoyment of the event. The speakers did have a bit of an older sound (if you know what I mean) that you could tell weren't from newer, more crisp speakers, but again, it didn't change the vibe at all. It might have been that night, but the crowd was supportive, excited, and no one seemed bothered or pestered by each other - they were there for the music and to enjoy every second of it! 100% looking forward to the next time I can see some more live music!
