This was the first time I had Vietnamese food. It was the most comforting food at -30 degrees temperature. They are quick, the place is neat and the food simple and soothing. Nice place.
Excellent Satay soup
Referred by a friend to Vietnamese Village Express to try out #17 Satay beef noodles soup. We were told it’s the best satay noodles soup in Calgary and we did not get disappointed. Soup was very rich; Meat quality and portion were decent; noodles were chewy, portion was decent. We also ordered the shrimp salad roll and it was not bad.
The good: very rich and tasty satay soup. We believe that soup is the #1 factor (followed by noodles, beef, basil, lime, and bean sprouts) to a bowl of good Pho and this restaurant has aced it.
Critiques: price is on the higher side, but definitely worth it for the soup.
If you like satay pho, we highly recommend you to try this place out. You will not regret it.
Four of us dined here for lunch and all ordered from the rice noodle section of the menu. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Food was hot, fresh, tasty and most were served up within minutes. Service was OK but not exceptional. My wife's meal came about 5mins after the rest of us were served and the glass of ice water that was requested never showed at all. The restaurant was 1/2 full. Despite this, we would come here again.
Lunch. Good place for lunch with fast service, lots of seating and a good variety of food choices
Great Vietnamese for take-out. Atmosphere isn't the greatest.
Not the best Vietnamese, but they do a good sate soup. Convenient spot for the work crowd located on the west end.
Secret and Slow. If you're lucky, after having climbed the stairs to this restaurant the outside door will be closed. For some reason opening the unmarked door to go into the restaurant makes it feel like a secret.
As for the food, it is good. Your general yummy Vietnamese food and they include tea when you sit down. The service is slow and I was rushed to eat and leave during a lunch break. But you can get that at quite a few restaurants in the downtown core.
Serves its purpose. This restaurant is not somewhere you go if you want fine dining. Vietnamese Village is very busy during lunch hour and they are efficient and quick to ensure you are in and out in less than an hour. The food is good however service is almost non existent. This restaurant serves it purpose when I am craving vietnamese food and are of limitied time. Definitely worth the try so long as you go in with realistic expectations.

Good for Lunch. This is an exceptionally busy restaurant at lunch. IT's always packed between about 11.45 and 13.00. As a result there are a lot of regulars - me being one. I like the restaurant purely for that reason - they know what I want and it's quick service. So for the lunch it's excellent - just arrive a little bit late.
Just forget it in the evenings. It's only open until a short time past the work day end so it's definitely not an evening sit down meal restaurant.
The food that I eat there - spring rolls and satay beef noodle soup is excellent and a nice sized portion. The menu is enormous which I don't like but it caters for all. People I have gone with have also enjoyed their food so you can't really fault it for a lunch time shop.
The staff are just run off their feet at busy times and frequently forget drinks orders as they are concerned ith getting the food out quick. My tip - just drink water and help yourself from the laid out glasses at the bar at the end.
Overall - good for quick lunch - about 3 steps above a fast food joint. Simple and reasonably priced.
Keep up the excellent pho sate.

Great Food. Not sure what restaurant these other reviewer when to, but it wasn't this one. The service is super fast, food was excellent - I have eaten Vietnamese all over down town Calgary and this it great.
