Best food best value in the area. Operated by the same owner for !!!!!40 years!!!!!. They obviously do a lot of things right!! I have tried most of their menu - loved every bit of it.
The best Chinese food in Calgary! Their food is so good that I cringe at the thought of eating Ginger Beef or Sweet and Sour Chicken from any other establishment in the city. My sister got me hooked on their food 20 years ago and we will always go back, as their food is consistently good and a great quality.

Firstly I have to say that I am completely surprised to find people rating this place poorly. There are so few Chinese food places in Calgary that make all their own food like Golden Leaf does. Most ginger beef and battered chicken at all the other restaurants come from the same frozen boxes and the sauces come from the same bulk packages.I have been a frequent customer for over 20 years now, and the food quality has been consistent all that time. I challenge you to find a better ginger beef in this city! Their sweet and sour chicken is also a highlight -- they don't use that same red sauce that everyone else uses -- their's is brown and is incredible! I am not a big fan of their Cantonese chow mein, but I do take into account that the area of China the owners are from will heavily influence what style they cook -- while I don't like this style of chow mein, its still good chow mein.The only real negative about this place, is that it is take out only. Now that I live in the far north end of the City, it makes it difficult to pick up an order for home, but I still do it because its just that good!
