My favourite place to eat, Im addicted to this place. Ok so food is really good tasting here, I only ever get the special (my friend is the same) - I can't say it's the best tasting middle eastern food out there, but the flavour mixed with the portions and the price blows this place out of the water as my favorite lunch time eat. I find myself constantly comparing downtown food to my Villa meals and I'm always pissed that I didn't go to Villa when I choose to try something different. The old guy here is AWESOME, the first Asian I have met that does NOT skimp on the portions, I tell him coleslaw and he shovels it on, I say some pickles boom I have half the bowl on the plate!!! so friendly and price for the special is so cheap there's no beating this place. I find myself awake at night thinking about the awesome meal I'm going to have the next day at villa, thinking about the delicious garlic sauce, amazing special meat no matter the day and that delicious hot sauce...ah dammit I have now drooled all over my keyboard and am craving Villa. The worst part of my meal when I'm eating Villa is the realization that today's lunch will come to an end and I will have to wait another day to stuff myself with this deliciousness; and I am a big boy who HATES small quantities but I always leave full and happy as can be mmmmmmmmmmm
top marks, wish I could steal 10 kaftas and some garlic sauce go eat them in a corner until I threw up, id also have to steal some rice and potatoes...and some pickles...and some coleslaw...damn it and a thing of hot sauce MAN I WANT VILLA AGAIN
To the old guy that sometimes serves us there, you know who me and my friend are, you have our business for life thanks to your portions you give us!!! I want everyone else in that mall to go bankrupt, they've got nothing on Villa
I get the special every day, I also get a bottle of pop every day - $10.25 after tax!!!! for downtown, that's a steal
Good value and a new dining experience. I've never had the delightful opportunity to try this type of food before, and I must say that the seasoning is something unexpected - mind you, this is not a bad thing, just something I've never had before.
On this particular day, Villa had a lunch special, for $7.49 you received platter chockful of items like rice, veggies (broccoli florets), coleslaw, and a meat pattie.
The meat pattie had grill marks resembling those from a panini, and I wasn't able to distinguish the type of meat (ground beef ?). However, it was quite well seasoned and moist.
Coleslaw was not your typical mayo based coleslaw, it contained more middle eastern seasoning, so to me it was very different, but oh so enjoyable.
The rice and veggies were good as well.
For the price of the meal, you can't go wrong, plus if you've never tried this type of food before (like myself), it is worth trying.
