5/5
Had the Double Decker burger & curly fries. The burger was the best burger I've ever had. Very flavourful and moist. The samosa was also delicious.
The service was outstanding. As we were waiting for our food we were brought some things to sample and had a fantastic conversation with the owner. I will definitely be back!
Wow! I am not vegan or vegeterian but my girfriend is and I must say the stuff i tried was amazing! First of the staff were soo friendly! I had the veg in burger with black beans and rice patty and homemade chipotle mayo and wow! Better than a meat burger at so many places. The curry sauce on the poutine is hands down the best curry i had in Canada!
Really great little veggie restaurant that caters to many dietary needs. they offer gluten free substitutions for almost all of their dishes too. The owners were so friendly and accommodating, which made the experience very pleasant
A must visit for Calgarians or anyone visiting! Healthy options, great prices, great team of chefs, great service. Their wraps are amazing! Every meat-eater I've brought to this place loves it. I can't believe the expression on people's faces when they take the first bite.
one of best places to eat during my trip to Canada was a small vegan and vegetarian marvel called Veg-In YYC. I was intrigued by the simplicity and creativeness of the menu - millionaire burger - with smashed samosa, housemade glutenfree samosa, and shakes made with almond milk. Everything was full of freshness and flavours. I will recommend Veg-In YYC to everyone, including - non-vegetarians also. Five star for their creative, fresh, service, and cleanliness.
Stopped by during our trip to Calgary. Located in the downtown this place offers bit of twist to Indian food. The food was tasty, fresh, and good. Service is prompt and warm.
If u are someone who ignore Indian food due to heavy sauces, this place offers much lighter options.
Note - it’s not typical Indian food offering curries, naans and rice dishes.
Absolutely delicious and creative Indian inspired fare from a hidden gem. I tried the East Meets West, essentially a "samosa poutine" of perfectly spiced samosas with vegan butter chicken sauce (incredible), spiced chickpeas (addictive) and a variety of fresh toppings that provided a welcome crunch. Not to mention the owner is one of the loveliest people I've met in a while. Definitely head down to Veg-In if you haven't already, I know I'll be back!
Flavourful flatbread. Had the Hungry Possum. And it was very tasty and satisfying. The flavour combination was very nicely balanced. The green apple lassi tasted fresh, like biting into a granny smith apple. Not too tart nor too sweet. Great combination on a hot day. Will definitely come back when i am craving something light and meat free.
4 Words - Delicious, creatively new vegan food. I've been a vegan for about 2 months now and its been hard to find food that went outside of the commonly found salads, or just different veggies and tofu. But when I heard about Veg-in YYC I had to give it a try. I ordered the 1 samosa East Meets West, which is their variation of a poutine made with samosa, chickpeas, and vegan butter chicken sauce on top. I also had the Veg-in Classic which was a HUGE burger with delicious sauces dripping everywhere. This burger did not make me miss meat at all. To top it all off I had a wonderful experience made better with the owner Sehra, who is so bright and positive creating an awesome atmosphere for customers.
The first I heard of Veg-In YYC was in Instagram. I was elated to find that there was a new vegan restaurant in Calgary! The restaurant it is still relatively new, so they still have to iron out the kinks. There are only a few stools to sit in at Veg-In YYC, so you most likely have to get take out than not. I ordered the Mardi Gras veggito (veggie burrito), which contained smashed samosa filling. While the flavours were good, I thought that it was dry and lacked a sauce. My first time at Veg-In YYC was less than spectacular, but hopefully the next time I go, it’ll be tastier!
Awesome grab-and-go food, vegan or otherwise. Great veggie burgers and, without a doubt, my favorite samosas in the city. Go early as everything is prepared fresh and can take a few minutes. I have not been at all disappointed during any of my visits with either the food or service.
Excellent indian fusion food. However, the food prep person seemed a bit disinterested. It was my first time there and great to know there is a vegan place with great food.
I happened to stumble across this place when visiting from Edmonton and so happy I did. We were initially greeted by Sehra, she is so bubbly and friendly, It felt like meeting an old friend. The hospitality was top notch. Beside the welcoming atmosphere, the food was incredible. I had the enchilada and the flavour and portion size was awesome for the price. I'm sad I don't actually live in Calgary so I can eat here more often. Definitely deserves more than 5 stars. Thank you for the kind and warm welcome 😊
Recently moved to the city from Toronto and I can easily say that the pulled jackfruit burger was probably the best vegan dish I’ve ever tried! Portions are huge, gluten-free friendly, and on top of that very caring and friendly service. Can’t wait to explore the menu some more. Easy 5 stars!
We were here on Canada Day and, despite being very busy, received excellent and super-friendly service. We were given lots of information about the menu and attentive service throughout our visit. The food was excellent with a great combination of flavours and textures. My son, not vegetarian, commented that the classic burger was as good as or better than any meat patty. The rest of us enjoyed the diverse and Indian-inspired flavours of East Meets West, Millionaire, and the Samosa Enchiladas. All were thoroughly enjoyed. Highly recommend Veg-In for the great service and excellent vegan dishes. Look forward to going here again sometime.
Best vegan Indian food in Calgary ❤️ just got the butter chicken (tofu) penne and the dill burger and it was unreal. The presentation is always amazing, such flavourful fresh food and warm service 💜 love this place so much
Just loved the place ...
This place is a pure vegan place owned and run by mother and son..
Don't go by names everything is vegan ...
They both are very very friendly and foods also tastes so good ....
We even tried Samson and that was really good ... This place is highly recommended...
While exploring the city, I discovered this amazing vegan restaurant! I was greeted by the owner and she was so nice! She was patient and she explained (with details) the ingredients of certain dishes that I wanted. After ordering, the owner gave a sample of their homemade chickpeas and it was delicious :) you can definitely feel that the owner treats their customers as family :) The service was fantastic and it was quick to get my dish. I ordered the Heaven on Earth (smashed samosas) and woowwwwwwwww! There were so many spices going on and it was so filling! Don’t think small samosas but two baseball balls. For the price, it was so worth it :)
One of my most favorite places to eat in the city, makes me so sad that I live more than 20 mins away. Excellent staff with huge hearts! And they are very accommodating if you have any dietary restrictions. Will be coming back, again and again and again :)
THANK YOU Veg-In YYC!
Sarah and her staff are incredible! As a first-time visitor with zero knowledge of the menu items, I totally lucked-out with this little restaurant. Sarah explained everything, and wow! the dishes we ordered were fantastic! The restaurant is super-clean, and yes, even in the back. Sarah was kind enough to let me use her private bathroom and everything in the back was gleaming and glistening. Their prices are in the same era as the awesome music they play overhead - the 70s! Where else in this city will get a beautiful and heaping Indian meal for two with dessert for $40?? I love this restaurant!
