This has quickly become my go to spot for happy hour and sports. a great Happy Hour, anything behind the bar, $5. why not get the premium.
Careful what you order the food portions are amazing, the nacho's by the foot, One foot will do trust me.
The monday night Steak sandwiche one of my go to;s.
The Meatloaf, well it's one for the books. Try it you will not be disappointed.
Service is some of the best around, bar tenders, are on point, The floor staff, quick friendly and know how to work the room so you are never without.
Go, you will not be disappointed.
Great service on a very busy wing night, one of the biggest chicken wings you can find in Calgary and beer is always cold!! Had the jerk wings because they are so awesome I didn't wanna try any of the others!
Haven't been here in a while but had a craving for the bison sheppard's pie. (It's the best thing ever, I'm not a fan of game meat at all but I tried the bison here a while ago and now I can't get enough of it!) Anyways, it was a bit late so I called to confirm what time the kitchen was open until. They told me 11:30. We showed up at about 11 and a guy, I think he must have been the manager, told us the kitchen had been closed already. He then excused himself to the back room for a few minutes and came back with a gift certificate for the next time we come and apologized for not waiting for us before they closed. I've read a few reviews on here saying there is terrible service and not to go because the staff treats you poorly, but I have to say I experienced the exact opposite here. We were greeted immediately and helped out even though the kitchen was closed, even the waitress there smiled at us and made sure we were ok. I will definitely be returning here again!
I have had the pleasure of experiencing "The Rose" many times and every time has been great. The servers are always smiling and very attentive and the bartenders are very fast and entertaining. From jokes and banter on a slower night to really creating a fun atmosphere on the weekends these guys are great! The beef and barley soup is one of the best I have ever had. From lunch with my mom to a night out with the boys I have never had a bad time. It's nice to see a place that still has good live music instead of a dj. If you have the chance check it out!
Top Notch Service. Today I met a friend for lunch at the Rose & Crown. I haven't been in this establishment since the Smirnoff Red Door party early last year and was looking forward to the visit. With the choice of ANYWHERE we would like to sit, we graciously chose the Patio. Our server Shelby was AMAZING!!! We ordered lemon water and Nacho's to share. The food was fast, hot, fresh and delivered to the table with a smile. The kitchen staff made sure we had everything we needed. Shelby checked back frequently on our Nachos and to make sure our waters were topped off at all times!
I have to say IT WAS AWESOME!!!!! I have noticed that it is very hard to find a great server in this day and age, especially a server that has no issue with refilling a lemon water. Sometimes establishments and servers pay only attention to those drinks worth $$$ (pop/ alcohol)
I have also called the Rose & Crown so that the management is aware of the great service from Shelby and the great menu of food available . THANK YOU 5 stars!!!!!!
Cool History. I've been here a few times and love it!
My parents frequent here also (my dads from the UK and a lot of his friends from the UK frequent here also). The servers are really nice and efficient the food is great and the atmosphere is awesome. Apparently the R&C used to be a house and is now haunted by ghosts - and you can sit anywhere its huge on the inside and has all kinds of nooks and crannies you can sit in.
Really cool experience!!
Oh the Rose and Crown.... I absolutely love this place! The live music is always awesome...I think they are always cover bands which means that you know most of the music and can dance the night away! The setup was a bit confusing when I first visited this pub but I wandered around with a friend and it is actually a really cool place! Try to get the small room with couches and a flatscreen upstairs...holds around 10 people!
I agree with some of the comments about service, it can be a bit slow when it's busy. We waited a little while for drinks one night but found that we could sneak away to the bar occasionally and grab drinks...not the worst thing as we could mingle and dance our way there! All the servers and bartenders seemed to be pretty happy though; when our server was at our table, she was apologetic for the slower-than-normal service, and was very friendly.
The food has been delicious each and every time I've been there...way better than the average pub!
I totally recommend this place for an afternoon drink or a night out with friends!
Deeeecent. I've ate at Rose and Crown twice, first time I had their perogies which I remembered being okay. I don't like this place of a pub on their live music night mainly just because it's hard to have a conversation with music blaring into my skull.
Today, my friend and I decided to tried out their breakfast menu, the line up for Red's did not appeal to me what so ever.
As always, I get the benedicts, while my buddy got the basket. The sauce was pretty good, although there wasn't enough of it. I wish they had a bit more creativity, the breakfast menu was very blah.
I was not expecting much from the reviews, but was pleasantly surprised, waitress was very friendly and funny, food was good! Came here with my husband and another couple and we all enjoyed out meals! Would come again!
Fun!. If you have the chance, sit in Samantha's section!! She's totally on the game for service and is a complete nutbar!
