One of the original Vietnamese restaurants, Viet Nam continues to be a great place for lunch. Met a friend and we enjoyed pleasant, efficient service and good food. My satay beef soup was served hot and tasty. My friend obviously liked her bun dish as it disappeared quickly. Many thanks team Viet Nam.
The pho here is bland, but the rice dishes are hearty and generally good.
Fresh, fast & great foods.. Awesome PHO and tasty vermicelli dishes, definitely should try the #78 Porkchop on rice or the 113 combination dish of shrimp, chicken , beef & springrolls on vermicelli/rice. Great taste and awesome NEW management, no more cranky lady owner.
Pho broth is so delicious, service is awesome, takeout is super fast and the portions were huge, fresh veggies and the nice man even offered us tea while we waited...can't wait to go back, only problem was an order of spring rolls is only 3, hard to share lol
Dependable. This is my default restaurant because it's close, not usually busy, the food comes quickly, and it has a solid set of vegan options to choose from. I'm not a fan of asian style tofu (i.e., medium firm tofu that isn't marinated but rather tossed in a deep fryer), but I'll take that over paying for a plate of veggies and some rice or noodles. The prices are relatively low and portion sizes are big (gotta love the Vietnamese for that!).
Deep fried goodness... for the vegetarian. The decor is nothing out of the ordinary, though one can't help but wonder the purpose of the TV in the back. I've never seen it use. And it's appalling how the parking lot now has a meter in it.
Despite this, there is nothing like the discovery of some solid vegetarian dishes on a menu. Viet Nam delivers on two items that make you forget your inner carnivore... but just for a moment. The vegetarian spring rolls are cooked to perfection. Crispy exterior, and a chewy, flavorful filling. What more do you need? The spicy tofu. The batter is light and airy and when can tofu go wrong?
Two healthy dishes prepared in unhealthy ways. So does that balance them out?
Definitely the best pho I've had in the city!
