Had the all you can eat and the food was great. Came quick and enjoyed the sake. They don’t hold back and provide good portions for all you can eat.
Very pleasantly surprised with the quality and service of this restaurant. It should NOT be confused with the All you can eat down the street with the same name - especially since this restaurant opened first. If you're someone who enjoys quality over quantity, this place will not disappoint. I have been to this restaurant a few times, and the consistency of quality is great every visit.
The presentation of their dishes at this restaurant is the best I've seen at a Japanese restaurant in Calgary, with beautiful large plates and ice sculpture designs on their raw fishes. Particularly their salmon sashimi is one of the freshest I've had in Calgary too. One of my pet peeves eating sashimi is the temperature, such as the fish being too cold and icy, or too close to room temperature, but this place always makes it at the perfect balance of serving raw fish. I was very much impressed by this. Their rolls are also very carefully and delicately made, and their attention to detail in terms of delicate and balancing tastes, presentation, and quality is remarkable.
The only potential challenges would be parking in Kensington, as you have to look for street parking - but it's definitely worth it in my opinion. In the warmer weather, walking through Kensington to get here and parking further would be ideal. Additionally, the restaurant is quaint and small, sort of like a hole in the wall, so I'd recommend this for small groups or dates, and to avoid big parties or gatherings. Though it's a small restaurant, the interior design is classy and has traditional elements - its very clean and comfortable. The portions are on the smaller side, but the prices are fairly adjusted for what you get, so it makes sense to me. Especially at the quality they're using, it's very reasonable.
Outstanding sashimi and nigiri. Great quality of fish. Rolls also very good. Good service, quiet fast and reasonably priced for what you get. Sashimi cuts are larger than what you get on 17th ave
