Had the all you can eat and the food was great. Came quick and enjoyed the sake. They don’t hold back and provide good portions for all you can eat.
Very pleasantly surprised with the quality and service of this restaurant. It should NOT be confused with the All you can eat down the street with the same name - especially since this restaurant opened first. If you're someone who enjoys quality over quantity, this place will not disappoint. I have been to this restaurant a few times, and the consistency of quality is great every visit.
The presentation of their dishes at this restaurant is the best I've seen at a Japanese restaurant in Calgary, with beautiful large plates and ice sculpture designs on their raw fishes. Particularly their salmon sashimi is one of the freshest I've had in Calgary too. One of my pet peeves eating sashimi is the temperature, such as the fish being too cold and icy, or too close to room temperature, but this place always makes it at the perfect balance of serving raw fish. I was very much impressed by this. Their rolls are also very carefully and delicately made, and their attention to detail in terms of delicate and balancing tastes, presentation, and quality is remarkable.
The only potential challenges would be parking in Kensington, as you have to look for street parking - but it's definitely worth it in my opinion. In the warmer weather, walking through Kensington to get here and parking further would be ideal. Additionally, the restaurant is quaint and small, sort of like a hole in the wall, so I'd recommend this for small groups or dates, and to avoid big parties or gatherings. Though it's a small restaurant, the interior design is classy and has traditional elements - its very clean and comfortable. The portions are on the smaller side, but the prices are fairly adjusted for what you get, so it makes sense to me. Especially at the quality they're using, it's very reasonable.
Outstanding sashimi and nigiri. Great quality of fish. Rolls also very good. Good service, quiet fast and reasonably priced for what you get. Sashimi cuts are larger than what you get on 17th ave
Great place with what I think is the best Sushi in Calgary. Unfortunately it gets confused with a newly opened 'all you can eat' fusion sushi on 10th Street (which offers the kind of sushi you would expect from all you can eat 👎) This place is on Kensington road and has tasty rolls and good quality fresh fish.
Great spot and not as busy as other sushi spots in town. If you're looking for peace and quiet dinner, I highly recommend this spot. Very under rated. Try their nagi toro, delicious!! Slices of blue fin are a must. Their servings are reasonable and not too pricy for what you get. The food gets to you at a reasonable time and no complaints on the service. This place will go in my rotations for sushi joints for a quiet evening.
Great staff, very friendly, and always remember me!! Awesome fresh sushi. Favourite place in Calgary for sure. Also appreciate the discount on takeout, especially for nights on the go!
Without a doubt this is the BEST place in Kensington for sushi and I would venture to say Calgary! I've eaten there many many times and it is always perfect. I love the ice sculptures they use to serve the susha and sashimi on, very impressive! I go at least once a week and as I said it is always perfection.
So delicious! Ordered the sashimi and a few sushi rolls. Was brought here with a friend and will definitely come back. Very fresh and great service !
Babu is drunk. This place is awesome. Literally the nicest people and maybe the best sushi in town. Great location in the heart of Kensington. Will go back often
Really good sushi for a reasonable price. The decor is attractive and pretty typical for a storefront restaurant. Perfect if you're staying in the Kensington neighborhood.
This is the best sushi place in Kensington and no doubt a top contender for best in Calgary. The food is always fresh and their menu has tons of variety! They've also newly renovated their location so the restaurant is modern and a pleasure to dine in. Best sushi and even better customer service- don't miss it!
I wish I could keep this place for myself but I thought I would be nice and share my secret... Great people, amazing Sashimi, new décor, Fusion roll and Salmon Mango rolls are to die for... The best sushi/sashimi in this city :)
I like to come here for fresh sashimi. The sashimi is served with a cute decorative ice block. The server is very friendly however, each time I go there it's not extremely busy. I think the place is ran by a family. But either way, one of my go-to for fresh sashimi.
Fabulously Fresh. I ordered takeout here one weeknight evening a few weeks ago. While I waited for my order, the smiling, friendly staff offered me a seat and brought me water. The restaurant was slower for dine-in customers that night, but I was still shocked by how quickly the chef turned my order around. I ordered a few different types of basic rolls and each of them met my expectations. From the friendliness, to the speed, right down to the taste and freshness, this restaurant exceeded my expectations on many different metrics. I'll be back :)
What is not to Like about this place? The fish is so fresh and the sashimi is done right! Perfectly cut! And the servers are the the nicest servers in town. My husband and I are regulars and they always welcome us back with smiles and delicious sushi!
Various Rolls of Awesomeness. This place just made our night best sushi ever!!
SUPER GOOD! Holy crap go here. Try the special rolls. Staff is super friendly too!
