Best place ever......went thru renovation not by choice but open again and as good as ever. 😀

Our family loves vietnamese food so we drive far and wide to find the best. From Airdrie to downtown, this place is excellent and one of our favorite. Wish prices were lower but hey with slightly higher price you really get great tastes.
Since recently transitioning to becoming vegan I've struggled finding restaurants with a variety of delicious vegan dishes. A Taste of Saigon delivers every time with not only a great selection of vegan items but incredibly delectable too!! My favorites so far are the #6 Vegan Scallion Pancakes with coconut curry sauce and #103 Spicy Vegetable and Tofu Hot Pot. In case you're not a full time herbivore: my carnivorous boyfriend enjoys dining here as well!
By far the best place to eat Pho in the city. If you haven't tried their coconut chicken curry soup then you seriously haven't lived. I have to stop myself from buying it ALL the time. Because I seriously could live off it
Awesome Pho!! I always get the spicy beef noodle soup, and am never disappointed. The broth is super flavourful and doesn't taste watered down like some other restaurants I have been to.
Service is good, but sometimes takes a while for someone to come to the front counter if ordering or picking up takeout. Great banh mi as well; they have a unique way of saucing the meat inside the subs.
The peanut sauce for the salad rolls always tastes a bit off though- kind of has an odd flavour unlike many peanut sauces I have had.
Overall, however, good prices, good food and good service.
This was the second time I have been to this restaurant, the food is good but there are a lot of inconsistencies. Both times I had the coconut curry beef pho, first time was flavourful with a thin broth, second time had must thicker broth with a less enjoyable taste. The first time we had the spring rolls, they were not very good, this time however they tasted like pork sausages, different yet again but so good! Lastly, the service. It took awhile for us to order beverages, both food and drink orders came out at different times, my main came out 5-7 minutes before my spouses. If they were busy, I could understand, however they were completely empty.

I have been having a hard time finding a Vietnamese restaurant in Calgary that caters to a plant based diet. Last time I tried to order a vegetarian soup at one and it turned out it is beef broth and the server said ..."but don't worry there is no actual meat pieces in it"... I kind of gave up. But Taste of Saigon to the rescue! Now I am lucky I kind of live close by, but it would be worth a longer drive. The soups, oh my... So delicious. The onion cakes have Thai basil wrapped in them which takes it to a whole new level of delicious. And the curry dipping sauce that comes with that is out of this world. I want a big bucket of that, seriously. The service is polite (whilst not too chatty) and they seem to know what they are doing. I do actually trust them when they prepare my dishes vegan (and let me tell you I kind of have trust issues caused by numerous outrages moments involving people claiming they know what they are doing and then serving me pasta with shrimp and cheese on it and such). The bun is prepared with spring rolls in rice paper so it is vegan and whilst it is good, it is not outstanding, but I will take it cause at least I know I can trust they prepared it right. The reason I only gave it 4 out of 5 is because while I like their salad rolls a lot, their peanut dipping sauce is really bad. I mean REALLY bad. I only get their salad rolls for take out so I can make my own at home for them. Don't know what happened there since everything else it really tasty. Anyways, if you have a hankering for Vietnamese soup and you are plant based, check it out.

LOVE THIS PLACE!! #37 (coconut lime tamarind soup) is addictive! The staff are all very kind, knowledgable the food is unreal!! If you have gluten intolerance they can accommodate ☺️
One of my favourite Vietnamese restaurants! First thing everyone needs to know is that this is not the typical pho place where everything is premade and the food comes out in like two minutes. The food here actually takes time because everything is made pretty fresh. I feel like this is where most people feel frustrated, so it is good to have this as a heads up before you try Taste of Saigon.
I have tried many different dishes here, and I love it all! All their soup broths are always soo good. I love that they are super clean, the food tastes really fresh, and they've got some cool desserts and even alcohol. I've never had "real authentic" Vietnamese food from Vietnam before so I can't compare, but I love the food here. Definitely worth a try as long as you're not in a rush to down your food and run :)
