Saffron is legit. I live close and frequent this establishment all the time. I'm writing this review because they've recently added a coconut chicken I can't get enough of. It's creamy and delicious with the right amount of curry. The chicken is tender and the potatoes absorb sauce then explode flavor in your mouth. Dip in a veggie samosa and find true satisfaction. It simple needs to be recognized. I love this place. Home-cooked love. 4.5 only because I'm saving the last .5 for their next dish that beats it.

As an individual who loves food, I have to say I genuinely appreciate the food quality and authenticity at saffron. The highest praise I can give to an establishment that serves Indian food, is to say it reminds me of my grandmother and how she cooked for my family. To which, the food and staff really do.
The menu is continuously rotating dishes so that a selection can be made fresh, daily. The ownership and staff are all family. This makes a huge difference to food quality, it clearly shows. I have been to several places in Calgary; however, hands down, their aloo ghobi and vindaloo's are the best I could find, to my taste.
Other more pricey restaurants don't take as much time to make their own masala or seek out fresh spices. You can taste these differences. I no longer make my favorite dishes at home (often). Instead I differ to their experience. I know they put the same care in as I would have. In terms of food quality for the money, the other Indian takeout within a huge radius can't compete. By far, the most value.
Try Saffron once like I did and you'll regret not having gone sooner.
Saffron is one of our favourite places to eat in town. The fact that not all of the dishes on the menu are available on any given day caught us by surprise when we first came here, but whatever they have for the day is always fantastic and very fresh.
Some of our favourite dishes here are the saag paneer and the veg samosas. They are both flavorful and delicious. The rice and the garlic naan are also excellent.
For the price you pay, you get a very generous amount of food, which will usually last a few meals.
I have actually tried every item on the menu, never had anything I dint like!

AMAZING!!. Have been eating here for a long time now and am constantly impressed by the quality of saffron's food! The prices are great considering the amount of food you get in the entree size and the customer service is five star. Nice family run business, I would definitely recommend this joint to every Indian cuisine lover.
I absolutely LOVE Saffron. This is my go-to place for Indian food. The coconut chicken, saffron chicken, and daal dishes are to die for. As is the roti. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants authentic, home cooked Indian food.
Wish I'd known about this place before now!. Oh. My. Word. I just finished eating Saffron's food and I think I'm in love. I was a bit adventurous and tried a couple of dishes that were new to me - aloo gobhi (spicy cauliflower and potato) and saag paneer (mildy spicy spinach and paneer). The meal came with basmati rice and probably the freshest piece of naan I've ever had. The service was quick and very friendly, which is a huge plus for me, but then this delicious food on top of that?! Wow. I've lived near Saffron for a long time and I regret not eating here before.
Just to clarify, they do take out only. The storefront is very clean and neat and they have a selection of vegetarian and meat dishes that varies day to day. The menu says you get two pieces of gulab jamun for $3.50, but they offer three in a container for the same price.
Seriously, try this place. I am very happy that I can get this great food so close to home!

Ordered take out, and the food was ready quite quickly. Friendly service, and the price was great. Ordered the dinner special, which included two delicious beef samosas, well spiced butter chicken, rice and alloo Gobi. Will definitely eat there soon again.
FANTASTIC!!!!. The best Indian food I have ever had!!! Authentic and absolutely delicious!!! Have ordered for family and friends who live abroad and they agree.. .the best!!! The food is consistently amazing and the staff is even better...if possible! Super friendly and make you feel so welcome every time you visit!! A neighborhood gem!!!

Quick and easy. Saffron is a great place for East Indian take out. It's a family run place and they're always very helpful and nice. The butter chicken is my fav.. the sauce is so good with their naan. mmmmm.
