Such good pizza for a cheap price. We order from here all the time, the toppings are good and the crust isn't to thick and lots of cheese. Definitely worth a try!
Best service I have ever had. I go MINIMUM 3 times per week. Can't beat the value! Prices are fair and food is unreal. Hidden gem for sure!!
Very small, but inexpensive food served with a smile. The sandwiches are nothing wildly inventive but very tasty with fresh ingredients. All round good value for the money!

Northwest Calgary institution. This little pizza and sub shop has been around for as long as I can remember. It was my go-to lunch spot back in junior highschool; that'd be about seventeen years ago now. They still have the Pac-Man machine.
It has always been a good value, they never skimp on topping portions, and the quality has remained consistently solid all these years. I love this place.
Pizzas are loaded with toppings great value. Subs are delicious and made with fresh chopped veggies. Great service and the people who work there are always so nice.
Good Pizza. Changed up how they do their crust really liked it tons of toppings good cheese will order again.
I work at varsity pizza and subs and I have been reading some of the reviews. A couple of them refer tt peopleo the pizzas as "deep dish". They are not, the pizzas are regular style crust and we do thincrust but its not the crunchy style that most people think. What we do is take the next size down and spread the dough in the right size pan eg XL thin take a LG ( we cant do small thincrust because there is not a smaller size, sorry ). I have been working here for over 3 years and not once have I gone to Pizza Hut or Pizza 73 because the pizzas here are great and very well priced for what you get.
Avoid the Pizza 73 rut and try this place.. I didn't know what good delivery pizza truly was until I had Varsity Pizza.
I live fairly close by, and have therefore always chosen the pickup. My wife and I have tried an assortment of Pizzas thus far, including the Greek, Buffalo Chicken, Meat Lovers, and others. All of them have been outstanding. The pizza is what I expect deep dish was meant to be; Varsity Pizza is not stingy on neither toppings nor cheese. I believe this is the first place I have been where a 12" pizza has simply been too much for a gluttonous dinner due to how generous they are with their accoutrements.
I would highly recommend Varsity Pizza to anyone who was looking to order pizza. I cannot speak to their delivery times, but it's the best delivery I've had in Calgary thus far, and I doubt I will ever go back to one of the big chains like Pizza 73 or Panago.
Had my first slice a few weeks ago. This pizza is delicious. I would recommend ordering in advance through the phone as they are busy (5 to 7 people working in the kitchen). I order the varsity special which had a good portion of toppings and was cheezy (not salty). I really liked the service as they were friendly and always checked up on your pizza. Would recommend.
By far this was one of the best pizzas we’ve had in a very long time. Definitely my new favorite go to pizza spot. Perfect amount of toppings. Perfect amount of cheese. Perfect amount of tasty sauce. And the owner is so generous and friendly! !!! Highly recommended!
Great family run business, the owners are very friendly and generous. I have been going to this pizza shop for over 15 years now and the pizza is always delicious. The ingredients taste fresh and they put generous amount of toppings and cheese. I recommend the donair pizza or their Varsity special.
Varsity has been providing both amazing pizza and service to our local HSAA union group at Foothills hospital for a number of years now (and during the pandemic as well). Thank you for your amazing food! And service! We love you!
Went here for the first time in 20 years, I remember having a sub here that was unique. This time we got a varsity special. It was delicious. One of those greasy pizza styles. Tasty meat and veggies.
Can’t say it’s the best pizza but it’s pretty good. Got the Varsity Special without ham & beef because 4 meats is too much meat for our tastes. Why isn’t it a 5? Because there’s just a little too much cheese. We love cheese, but the pizza could definitely stand to have 25% less cheese. Can’t even see the generous toppings because there’s so much cheese. Although we like the sauce to be tangier, it is actually pretty flavourful BUT you can hardly taste it because there’s so much cheese. And lastly, although the crust tastes good, it doesn’t travel well. We picked it up and were home in less than 10min. But the bottom of the pizza was already soggy by then. The hot wings were ok. Very saucy. Good flavor but not crisp at all.
If you’re the kind of person who loves extra cheese on your pizza, you don’t need to order extra here. You’ll love this pizza already...but yes, extra cheese IS an option they offer.
This was my first time. The pizzas are filling, loaded down and great taste. The owner is an awesome man.
