Fantastic Fried Chicken. We had the shallot and the spicy both were great, the spicy was very sticky as it should be in the shallow was perfect. Both had crispy skin and tender juicy meat, we'll definitely be back.
This is now my go to place for Korean fried chicken! The skin is perfectly crisp and the chicken is super most and juicy. My favourite flavour would definitely have to be the sweet and spicy chicken. You get value for your money here as the pieces of chicken are quite large. From my experience the 'couple combo' is enough for 3-4 people as it comes with 10 pieces of chicken and assorted fries. Service here is always great and the waitresses are very polite. Parking can be a little difficult to find during the day, but there is a lot of street parking in the evening. The restaurant itself is quite small and dingy but that doesn't take away from the great food!
What an amazing little place, the hot and sweet chicken is so yummy and so are their onion rings, totally one of the best chicken places in Calgary I would choose olive chicken over kfc any day!
I had the hot and sweet chicken. It was really good but there was too much sauce. I think I would go for a dry chicken next time but I liked it enough to certainly come back.

a very charming joint nestled in the beltline community. it's not my go to place for korean fried chicken (there are more convenient places for me), but it's definitely a good place to stop by when in the area.
the place is small and simple; they only have a few tables, so groups larger than four or five aren't recommended. their menu is right above the cash register, and they have an open kitchen, so you can actually see your meal being made! their oil and seasoning is home made, and you can really taste it.
they only have two flavours to really choose from, but it doesn't really detract from the experience in my opinion. the wait for food isn't long at all, and it comes out piping hot and fresh. the meat is tender, juicy, and not oily at all, while the batter is crispy, and packs a good amount of flavour. not too salty, but not bland. their fries (as i ordered combo #1) are also very good, and i think for the price of that combo you get a pretty decent bang for your buck.
all in all, olive chicken is a very homely and simple place, but still incredibly swell. if you're looking to fill a craving or simply trying satisfy your hunger, you've come to the right place!

There are a lot of Korean fried chicken joints in Calgary now, but Olive Chicken will hold a special spot in my rating as one of the firsts to enter the mainstream market. A lot of my experience is from nostalgia of biting into their fried breaded chicken for first time and being amazed at the inside juiciness contrasted with the thick, chunky fried skin.
While I think the original recipe for the crispy chicken is great, it's on par with almost every Korean fried chicken joint. The standout among spots is the Hot and Sweet sauce. Olive Chicken's is great, however, it is pretty sweet, almost sugary, so the taste will linger for a bit. Definitely comes down to personal taste.
The menu is also pretty small. Only two different types of chicken to chose from, but both are satisfying. Their other items of the menu includes other fast food offering like burgers and fish & chips, but in the end, it's the chicken I'll come for.
As the first location, it's not the best place to sit down for a meal considering there's only like three tables inside and a few outside. It's more of a take-out spot on your way out of downtown which can be actually convenient.
Don't bother with the sides - the chicken is where it is at! Both the hot and sweet and the crispy are delicious!!! Best to take out vs. eat in - once you get there you will understand. Have to walk through the kitchen to get to the washroom.

An outlet known for serving Korean style fried chicken. We ordered a small order of half and half (hot and sweet & crispy) for $11 that came with a side of pickled daikon. I preferred the hot and sweet over the crispy chicken. The crispy chicken was not "crispy" enough (for better deep fried chicken, you can get it conveniently from KFC).

Still the best fried chicken. We ordered the couple meal. 5 pieces crispy fried chicken and 5 pieces extra spicy fried chicken. I loved the extra spicy !!! It came with radish. And a mixed fries (regular fries, sweet potato fries, onion rings and fried mushroom)

Their wings are one of the tastiest. Reasonably priced and the lady at the counter was super nice. Also I got an extra chicken for free as well. Too much food for 17 bucks. Totally worth it.
Great value for a delicious fried chicken! They have plenty of combos and chicken flavours to choose from and got my order really fast! This will be our staple fried chicken if we’re craving for one 👌
Great service. Not much seating for eating in..suggest ordering out instead. The chicken comes in whole pieces with delicious flavour choices. Everything is done fresh and on the spot. The pickled raddish is also really fresh and a good side to get. The pricing is fair as well. This is definitely a good korean fried chicken place. Would recommend ginger soy.
Olive Chicken is a "must visit" eatery that truly stands out in the large field of fried chicken restaurants in Calgary. Freshly cooked chicken with delicious flavours. The lunch combo is outstanding with salad, rice and fried chicken. It is a small restaurant that offers friendly service, and super fresh and tasty chicken. Will be back!

The shallot wasabi sauce is by far my favorite, but the extra spicy and ginger aou are amazing.
On top of it, the chicken is really good. Fried well, very crispy, well executed.
Lots of wings in my 15 piece, I like that but request white if you want it.
Had dinner here. Ordered the 3 piece fried chicken combo. A very light batter fried perfectly. Comes with fries and a drink. I will be back and will probably try the sauce chicken next as that sounds delicious right now.
Korean style chicken has that special double fried crunch which this place does well. The chicken was moist inside . Service quick working 5 min of ordering. The fries are pretty bad in my opinion as I like to see a place like this make fresh fries .if it had fresh fries it would get full 5 stars. So order the chicken don’t order the fries .
