Love the HOME STYLE cooked meals, BIG portions... and impeccable friendly service , friendly place to come everyone is so nice .The juke box at the tables brings back memories from my childhood ! Can't really go wrong with a diner that's been around forever. And the decor has not changed which is what I love! It's busy and it's quick, it's clean and the staff is friendly. Will be coming back for lunch
This place is amazing. It’s open 24 hours and has a phenomenal homeyness to it. There is a woman named Helen who works there and she is an absolute doll when we roll in every Saturday in our ridiculous outfits (just me not my companions. I like dark lips and corsets.)
This place has classic, no nonsense, good food and the people who work there are awesome. There’s also a fancy dragon in a train that makes its rounds above which is awesome. We come there after a night of no good, and are always warmly welcomed and attended to.
I mean sure, there’s been a resurgence of greasy spoons as uber popular with the public, and anyone with eyes can see Calgary is a brunch mecca as people stand in lines for quite some time just to dine on potato pancakes and fancy eggs – but the good ol’, line ’em up on stools, blue plate special style diners are a lost breed.
This is in my 'hood and my wheelhouse. Yeah, it's trucker food in the heart of the city. But think about that for a second, these guys are working people. They don't want junk food, just simple honest cooking. Yeah we got burgers and fries. Lots of eggs and bacon and mystery meat sausages. It ain't pretty and isn't supposed to be -- this town got soft on $100 oil and your flaky eggs benny with herbs and whatever you pay $30 for on Stephen Ave. This is a real deal. Here's what you didn't know -- these guys cook a whole turkey every single day. The hot turkey sandwich? You're not going to get anything like it in this city. Oh and they do pie. Like, real pie like you're not going to find outside grandma's.
Your basic diner with great deals and food. . . Always busy. Where else can 4 people eat for under $50 including tip for a huge breakfast. Great pies, try the Flapper of Mile High Lemon. . .both great choices.
Always a great place for a quick and delicious breakfast. The server's are always really sweet and the food is consistently delicious. I would definitely recommend this place.
Food: Really good burger.. You can taste the char. Most of the menu here is pretty decent.
Value: Great value! Prices are so cheap and portions are good.
Service: Friendly and what you would expect from a truckstop.
Ambiance: The atmosphere defines truckstop. It's old and run down, there's a miniature train that runs around the perimeter of the dining room, the severs all wear pink nursing scrubs, the jukebox plays old country. The plates, cups, and cutlery have been used for probably years and years.
How could you not love this classic diner?! It looks like something out of a movie with classics such as Johnny Cash playing on the jukebox in the background, a train that circles the perimeter of the restaurant, pink walls, and fridge full of pies, down to earth patrons, and the friendliest gals serving!! The food is great home cooked style and ultra cheap. Open 24hrs! ☀️🌙This place will always be a fixture in Calgary. #calgarydiner 🍰🍔🍳
If you live in Calgary and haven't been here, you're seriously missing out. This is a great little diner that serves good food, excellent pies and they always do it with a smile. We always talk about how we need to come here more because it is such a good experience.
This is a 24 hour diner great for breakfast or a meal after a long night of work or partying! Service is always great and the food is amazing wether you want eggs and hash browns or a good piece of steak!
