Jinya Ramen Bar has opened a new location in Burnaby. This location is right outside the Metrotown Mall. I always had Jinya ramen on Robson Street. From last year, I began to have it at the Burnaby location.
Interior Design
The same as the other two Jinya Ramen locations, the Burnaby location has two parts, bar, and restaurant. There are many tables inside the restaurant for different groups of people. People who come to this restaurant are first to come and first serve. Inside the restaurant, the restaurant space is quiet of an open and airy casual dining room. However, people can also a choice to stand outside. It’s a welcoming place and the servers are very nice and friendly.
Food
My family and friends have been to Jinya noodles bar three times. We have tried different dishes each time. We had Wonton Chicken Ramen, Spicy Chicken Ramen, Chicken Ramen, Slurp up cilantro. Besides ramens, we have tried Jinya buns, Takoyaki - octopus ball. All the dishes came out of the kitchen fast and fresh. They are all tasty.
Price
The price of ramen is a little bit expensive. Each noodle bowl is $14 - $16, 1The same side dishes are $7 or $8.
I visited Jinya often because I work close by. I would eat there almost every lunch time. I love Jinya Appetizers... like deep fried zucchini chips, deep fried cauliflower and my favourite chaechi bun! Jinya Ramen Are Awesome... like cilantro Ramen soup if you want a light Ramen. You can’t go wrong with Old School Ramen. Such a classic Ramen. And they have yummy fresh fruits drinks too. The Staff are very friendly & provide Great Customers Service. Their Manager Eric and Aj are always professional and friendly. I would definitely bring my friends and family to Jinya Ramen Bar for lunch or dinner in the near Future. Thanks for the Amazing Time Jinya!!! 🥰 Amazing Grace
My fav ramen place. Love the chicken wonton ramen. I also like how they have different options for their ramen base such as chicken and veggie, which not all places offer.
Picked up some take out, service was fast and friendly. The Jinya bun was a bit hyped up as the pork belly was lean (when is pork belly lean?!) But the bun was steamed tender super fluffy soft and the sauces tasty. The ramen noodles and toppings all assembled in a bowl whilst the broth in separate bowl so it was easy to just add the broth and dig in. Loved the perfectly al dente with just a bit of chew noodles that picked up great flavor from the heavily salted fatty broth. While not all the ramen toppings are traditional, they are definitely tasty! The crispy brussel sprouts were addictively good and delish dunked into the sprouting it up broth. The cha cha cha broth was not as garlicky as I would have hoped (I'll get free fresh garlic with it next time), and was more earthy salty broth as it tasted like there was mushrooms or dark miso added to the fish and pork based broth. Still, a great place for a quick ramen!
Jinya is one of my favourite ramen spots for Burnaby. I got the JINYA Tonkotsu Black (added corn) and bf got the special: Kara-Men! It really did hit the spot. And spicy lovers will LOVE the Kara-Men. The broth had a really good kick to it! Service was great and our waters always got refilled without us even asking!
The staff at Jinya are very welcoming and kind. Been here a couple times, great service, attentive and the food is great. By far one of my favourite ramen places.
Had dinner with friends and had a great experienced. Restaurant is not busy so we’re seated right away. Serving time was fast. Staff are friendly but keep on shouting Japanese words which distracts the customers having conversation. The food was great except for the green salad as the dressing is a bit bland. Price is okay and restaurant interior and ambiance is good.
Jinya Ramen Bar has 3 locations in the lower mainland – two in Vancouver and one in Burnaby. Their restaurants offer a sleek and modern dining atmosphere while serving non-pretentious noodles in a good, solid broth. Aside from traditional ramen, you will find the chef’s creations quite tantalizing. Such was the Slurp Up Cilantro Ramen made with a clear chicken broth, cilantro, chicken chashu, kikurage, seasoned egg. lime and chili sauce served with thin noodles. I love cilantro, and I found the lighter broth to be perfectly paired with the fine taste of the herb and the slight hint of citrus.
More than just ramen.
The pork bao was delicious. Bao was soft & not too dense, the pork had a sweet glaze.
The tuna tacos were presented well, instead of a tortilla shell they serve it with a crispy wonton skin.
Ramen did not disappoint, served in huge bowls with hot soup. The pork slices were extremely tender & juicy. Soup was packed full of flavours.
My recommendation- get a serve of the tempura brussel sprouts with white truffle oil. This will make you love brussel sprouts!
I really wanted to check out the new Uniqlo that opened at Metrotown mall and while there we needed something to eat. I didn’t really want to eat any fast food court, so we went to the newly opened Jinya Ramen. It is a USA based Ramen chain that has opened 2 other locations in Vancouver. This is the first one located in the burbs.
Great atmosphere, incredible tasting food and service to match.
Our experience with Zubu was great, we were promptly sat and our order taken quickly. The server we had was on top of it all.
I had asked what they were known for and got some suggestions on their personal favorites and their signature dishes.
Our food was out incredibly fast, faster than my expectation.
Now the taste, holy heck.
I went with the fatty pork, which I suggest you do too, it was prepared to perfection. The flavours with the ramen were exquisite and the savory base with added butter were a match made in heaven.
I've also never tasted noodles as good as this before, they're definitely my top choice now.
I've been to a lot of ramen places across Canada and Zubu as a local chain definitely takes a top five spot for me.
I do recommend this place for a nice date night, time out with friends or somewhere to just get a good bowl of ramen.
I enjoyed the Tonkotsu Koro.
Extra hot sure is extra hot. The first time i went here for takeout it wasn’t great but its really redeemed itself! The broth was good and not too salty. Highly recommend just going for extra hot if youre going to choose hot the chili sauce is really good
Our first time eating here and dinner was good. The ramen broth was a bit too salty, but good overall. The service was very good. Glad we were able to eat Nana's desserts.
The brussel sprouts in batter wasn't good. Mostly tasteless batter. It should be taken off the menu.
Went to Zubu to try the Bite of Burnaby event. Similar to Vancouver dine out where there is a 3 course or 4 course meal for $15 or $30. My hubby ordered the 4 course meal for $30 and since Takoyaki is not available (appetizer), i decided to just choose the special lunch menu for $20 which is a 3 course meal.
The only difference is the 4 course has appetizer to which my husband ordered karage/chicken, you get 5 pcs. He ordered curry fries for starter and it did taste like curry, nothing special. His entree is (tonkotsu kuro) which we both really liked. And you have the option to choose fatty or lean chasu. For his dessert, we ordered double fromage chocolate which is also good!
Great dinner out. Previously visited this place as Jinya and it is better as Zubu hands down.
Really nice Japanese whiskey selection so you can try a couple different things before splurging on a whole bottle. I tried the Shinobu: the blended Mizunara Oak and was very happy with it. Other drink was iced oolong tea which was nice to find was unsweetened.
Ordered the cilantro and lemon ramen off the seasonal summer menu and the pork gyoza and both were great, but the ramen was outstanding. Restaurant offers kaedama (extra noodles to put in remaining broth) for a small charge.
Overall a great experience and will definitely be back, will probably be my go to place in the area to grab a quick bite before a movie.
