I like the ambience of this place. It reminds you of the cafes in LA, spacious with high ceiling, plants that brighten up your day. It’s a great hangout area for friends and family. I wish they have something like this in Vancouver area. Their combination of Korean savoury menus went well with the French pastries. I loved their spicy bulgogi in squid ink bread sandwich.

Cute and Instagram-worthy cafe that used to be a garage. The interior is very pretty and modern.

I like to come for brunch because of their breakfast platters. These are good to share between 2 people. Usually comes with a salad, potatoes, toast, 2 eggs cooked your way + a main (you choose). These platters are roughly $13-18. Tried their pear sandwich but it's not as good as Finch's.

I recommend having coffee meet-ups, brunch with your girlfriends or maybe a casual study meeting (where you don't need quiet to study) at La Foret.

La Foret is one of those places where I seem to be the last person on earth (or at least in my network) to try. I’ve heard great things about La Foret and while looking for a new place to try, the fiance and I finally came here. La Foret is located close to Metrotown, inconspicuously disguised as a garage. You wouldn’t expect it to be a popular, bustling cafe with Korean influences from the outside.

It’s always been on my list to try La Foret but for whatever reason I never did. When I took Mama Lam out shopping at Metrotown one weekend, I decided to take her there first. Even though La Foret’s menu isn’t all that original but they do introduce their own take on it (e.g. squid ink waffle). Overall I quite enjoyed the food and I thought it’s a nice spot for brunch.

After the quick shopping at Metrotown on Saturday morning, my friend took me to LA Foret to have some snacks. It was my first time at this place. We had such a great time there.

Location: LA Foret is located between Royal Oak and Metrotown Skytrain stations. Because of the location, it was always very busy and difficult to park the car. There is only a few spots in the front and a couple at the back. Since we arrived early, we found a spot at the back. My friend told me that she had to park a few blocks away sometimes when she visited this place.

La Foret is a restaurant, patisserie, and cafe. It has a huge space inside. About 84 seats inside the cafe. Since Foret means forest in French, it has used trees and plants surrounds the space. Walking inside the restaurant, you will have a totally different feeling.

Since it’s still early, my friend and I only ordered one Green Tea Waffle and two small slides cakes to share. The Green Tea Waffle was made by fresh kiwi, strawberry, green tea ice cream, walnuts, green tea sauce and house-made whipped cream. The Waffle was freshly made. Large portion. The taste of the waffle was very delicious. Sweet Strawberry. Sour Kiwi and strong taste of the green tea flavor. Awesome choice. The price is a little bit expensive, which is around $14. The double chocolate cake is $7 per piece. The price is expensive. It has consisted of layers of chocolate cake sandwiching chocolate mousse and was covered in a layer of shiny chocolate frosting. The cake was very nice not too sweet. Love it. Earl Grey Mousse Cake $7.5 per piece. The price is more expensive than a double chocolate cake. The earl grey flavor is my favorite. Service: The servers at La Foret were nice and friendly. They were all knowledgeable about their products. If this is your first time, they will give you detail explanation about all their products.

In summary, I found nice and comfortable to have food at La Foret and enjoy its eco-system environment. Highly Recommend people.

8/10 May 11/18 bulgogi platter - bulgogi, bread, salad, choice of eggs (sunny side up). Filling meal. Confused but realized the charcoal bread was squid ink bread after some guessing and eventually asking :P

Order and pay first then self seat down style

Sunny Sunday brunch, LOVELY! Finally came here to check out La Foret in this hidden location at Burnaby, previously was a auto repair shop.  The cafe is very spacious with high ceiling, earthy and greenery setting with interesting decoration in different elements like rocks, cements, woods and plants.

A perfect place to leave myself alone and relax, nice atmosphere. It’s busy place, food was ok. I didn’t try their pastries yet, but I’m definitely going back for it!

I heard my parents talking about this place quite a few times and they suggest that I go and and check it out.  I tried their brew coffee and their Strawberry Roll Cake.  Coffee is $2 each which is reasonable and I love their cake! They make their own pastries and the cake tasted great with fresh strawberries and the cream is not too sweet and also fresh as well.  I also like the ambiance as it is spacious and with cozy and relaxing atmosphere!  The only thing that I wish they can do better is parking.  They have parking in front of their store, but the spaces are very limited and I only realized later after I left the store that they have more parking on the back.  They don't have a clear sign telling people that there is more space on the back.  Overall it is still a nice place worth visiting again!

Beautifully set up brunch spot! The aesthetics are top class. The food was good but I though it was too pricey for what was served. The 5 different types of sausages in my $22 platter, seemed like the run of the mill deli type. The Spanish latte was very good, the waffles chewy and nice. I might go back for the vibe, but will try out something other than the platter. I also found the plate size to be on the smaller side, so it was hard to get to the salad without dropping a bit on the table.

Beautiful and aesthetic place to hang with friends and family to eat some fun food! We ordered double chocolate pastry, chicken sandwich, chocolate and banana waffle and chicken with fires. Everything tasted delicious l, loved the fluffy waffle and chocolate pastry one of the best I've had around the city. The place is very spacious and beautiful and kids absolutely love it.

This was the first time we visit this place and we liked it. The entire design was quite modern with very high ceiling. The menu was has a reasonable wide selection of items that could meet the expectations from all kinds of people whether you are a meat lover, vegan, vegetarian, or on a more restricted diet temporarily. Food came out rather quickly and the service was good too. The inside was kept clean and tidy. The only down side is that they don’t have a lot of parking space compare to the number of tables they have.

Lovely spot with amazing conception! So spacious with high ceiling and skylights where natural lighting, a nice mini-tropical forest in the centre of the space, plenty of seating options including a concrete bench, modern decor, wide food and beverage options. Tried the chicken and waffles. Looks amazing! Chicken was tasty and cut into handy bitesize pieces. Waffles also were delicious. On the other hand, it’s pricey :( The LONG waiting time could upset you though. Looking forward to seeing more locations.

The food surprised my expectations and the menu was quite unique. I enjoyed the bulgogi sandwich on squid ink bread and we also got the chicken platter. The vanilla lavender drink was really good. The natural lighting and all the plants made this a nice place to visit, hangout and take pictures. I wish I could try some of the cakes.

I visited this cafe many times. Finally I am writing a review about it. The layout remains the same but they have moved the bread and buns in individual packing to the front of the cafe. When customers come in and lineup for food/payment, they can grab the bread and buns right away. The lineup was not too long. It usually depends on when you go. Menus are on their website or they have paper menus at the cashier, so customers can look at them while waiting in line. I ordered the bacon and waffle platter, a regular latte and a matcha latte. All of them were good. They have many varieties in terms of coffee beverage, breakfast, desserts, and etc. Customers must be able to find something to eat or order from their menus. Once the food was ordered, I got a small vibrating machine. It would vibrate when the food was ready for pickup. I could go find a table first. The cafe has changed to use wooden cutlery instead of plastic. It’s better and more environmental friend. However, it was hard to use the wooden fork to pick up food from the plate. I must use a spoon or knife to help at the same time. It was funny. A sign at the cafe would tell customers that if we ordered food, we could stay for two hours. If we ordered a beverage only, we could only stay for an hour. That makes sense, so customers can’t just sit at a table for hours especially ones who bring laptops or work to the cafe. Would I recommend this cafe to others? Yes! It’s such a popular restaurant in Burnaby now. Lots of street parking in the residential area.
