I have always really enjoyed this place. Great food, service and value. Recently went in with my new baby for lunch and could have used a change table (or any private table I could change him on). The bathroom floor is no place to change a baby. Will still come back, just not with the baby.

I recently had the opportunity to pop into The Black Swan in Burlington and boy am I am glad I did. It was Sunday night and it was their weekly Jam night and the place was hopping.
First thing i liked about the place was that the tables were nice and spaced out so you dont feel like youre on top of someone.
Once I found a small table on the bar side I was greeted by the bartender asking if I was interested in a menu and something to drink. Believe his name was Greg. He was super friendly and was attentive throughout the night. Nice start to the evening.
I ordered a drink and looked through the menu for something to eat. I wasnt too hungry so I just ordered some fries which I was told are hand cut in house. Being a french fry self proclaimed afficiando Ive got to say these are some of the best Ive ever had.
Over the course of the next 90 minutes or so I listened to a great mix and range of music from the jam band and people who are invited to get up and sing and play. Was a real treat to see so many talented people do their thing. I just wish I had more time to stay and enjoy the full night.
Another thing I want to compliment The Black Swan on is their wine options and beer selection. You wont have any trouble finding something here.
I can recommend without any hesitation The Black Swan and will definitely be back. You can tell the place is well run and the staff reflect that.
Looking forward to my next visit with friends in tow.
Amazing Place.. I never knew the Black Swan is so wonderful, had heard of it but didn't have a reason to pop in until last night.
I went to see Ginger St James with a few friends, she was Singing there with the resident Band, The James Anthony Band.
I had the Fish & Chips, my friends had the Philly steak sandwich and Steak & Guinness pie. We all raved about the food, service was Great, Ashley was very attentive, and I couldn't believe how reasonable the prices are. Dinner and a couple drinks under $25.00
I wish I had of stopped in sooner, I'll be there every Thursday and I am going to have to check out all the other things they have going on.
Great place to eat. Went here for dinner for first time. Nice looking pub, very friendly wait staff, food was excellent. I had the hamburger, which was clearly hand made and very tasty. My wife had the fish and chips, which she said was also very good. We will add this to our regular restaurant rotation.
Great place to eat on a Thursday night! Really enjoyed the live music and the food and service was awesome! Nice laid back and comfortable atmosphere.
Black swan is good. Went there Sat night for the first time, apparently the entertainment is great sat afternoon. The place is packed I am told. Mel, our server was great. A very personal young girl. I had the Greek salad, not the best I have had. My Friend had the Liver and onions which a tried and it was very good. I over heard a few kids playing darts that the wings are good, will have to go back and try them next time
I have to wonder if the people who wrote bad reviews are just generally unhappy and try to get free stuff when they go out. My husband and I have enjoyed dining at The Black Swan numerous times and have never once been served a bad meal or been treated unkindly. The food is always fresh and items like the Cajun chicken spring rolls are so good they HAVE to be made on site. Whether we are coming for dinner or stopping by for a pint and a game of darts, we know at The Black Swan we are guaranteed a warm welcome. Not our first visit, and definitely not our last!!!
Place opened a couple months ago. We are new to the area and are happy to have found a little pub to watch the game or grab a pint at. Decor is very basic and general.. Typical pub but no personality yet (place is so new... It'll happen soon) ordered spinach and artichoke dip which was very runny but tasted good, and an order of fish and chips each. The fish portion appeared to be HUGE but once we dug in we discovered it was a thick coating of (uncooked) batter which made our stomachs upset later on in the night. We will return in about 6 mOnths or so, give the place a chance to develop and perfect cooking techniques a little more. They deserve another chance... But later ;)

Great experence. Black swan was very nice atmosphere lots on tap and my stuffed chicken dish was to die for. my girlfriend fell in love with the salmon i think that my next choice :)
all the staff were very polite and had our food out in a reasonble time. soo looks like Black swan gets 2 thumbs up and a high 5 from me.
can help to mention but staff from the purple heather should stop writing bad reviews about there competiton. common that anit classy.
