Awesome place and cool atmosphere. Coffees are great as well.
Great place! Stopped when i visited Canada. Will come again one day
One of the best coffee shops in Winnipeg. A unique architectural interior with a changing and fantastic selection of books, installations and other cool items available.
The Murray Chronicles
+3.5
MAKE is a small coffee shop on Corydon in Winnipeg. It is quiet and minimalist, and best suited to those drinking coffee by themselves. Alone. Seating is uncomfortable at best, but there are many electrical outlets for laptops and other devices. It was opened with the desire to offer an espresso bar plus a venue for design exhibition and retail. "MAKE seeks to provide an opportunity for the public to engage with the profession of design."
Easily my favourite coffee shop in the city. Lots of cool products for sale and always interesting architecture centric projects on display.
MAKE is my go to local coffee shop and I have yet to find a better Americano. Service is always perfect. I actually like a space that's quiet and minimalistic, however it might not be the best place for a party of +2. I think for solo patrons it's perfect. I've had very productive coding sessions here.
I was unsure how to approach rating this little place for a number of reasons but I decided that the flavour and quality achieved should weigh more heavily than that of decor, service, etc. I enjoyed an Earl Grey tea latte and it was very well done, seldom have I had better. The quality is excellent and it can be reflected in the price sometimes though I found it worth it. Also, I appreciate that tax is included in the prices listed.
The decor is not my favourite though that, obviously, is a personal preference. Each chair is different than the next and neither seemed particularly comfortable. The ladder leading to nowhere was particularly interesting. The service was curt but kind and it was prompt. It seems unfair that I write from the dead of winter while the shop is barraged by the many feet bringing nothing but water marks and trouble as I'm sure it's as nice as the pictures come summer and kinder weather. I would, however, have liked just another light or two.
Other than that, I felt a little awkward at times chatting with my friend as it seemed extremely quiet when a lull in the music arose. Barring that, however, it was nice.
I'd love to visit again should I be in the area, the drinks were delicious. I wouldn't make the trip just for the coffee though.
Great little cafe. Cool minimalist interior. Small, with limited seating. Free wifi. Lots of outlets for laptops. Great music. Good espresso, reasonable prices ($2.50 for espresso, tax included).
I recommend this place.
The place was nice people were polite too. My sister ordered coffee but it was a bit too expensive for its quantity. I got the matcha latte it was good I like how the cups looked and how they topped it of.
Really tasty lattes and I love working here, it's got a really cool vibe and the owner is super friendly. It's maybe a tad overpriced, but it's a nice addition to the neighbourhood and great if you're wanting to avoid starbucks!
Good Coffee in Little Italy. Had an americano here the other day. It appeared as if the owner (or whatever relationship he has with this place) was working, and he was very friendly. Coffee was darker than I anticipated but very nice. It is notable that there are a few roasters showcased in this cafe. Worth a peek for those looking to taste regionally roasted beans, or something new.
The design of this place is very barebones but done with tact. For those who are interested in such things, and the design world in general, this place is somewhere to go. Lots of neat books to browse, and a handful of seats to lounge in. Cute little space in which to socialize.
Great coffee. Been here couple of times already. I love the tastes of their coffee. Some of my friends said it was strong but for me, it's perfect. The ambiance is one of the things I like in this place. It's kinda like an art gallery which makes it unique. Will definitely go back in here.
