This place has changed...and it is awesome! They have a lot of vegan and vegetarian options. The Vietnamese Rice Bowl was excellent! They also have a new system of ordering which is a vast improvement over the previois setup. Kudos to Grace Cafe!
If you work downtown there is a cafe a city hall called Grace Cafe that mostly no one knows exists. The prices are good, the food is good, and the staff is friendly. Also they are happy to customise your order for you for you ask. I go here for breakfast every morning. Great breakfasts and burgers.
One of my favourite spots to go downtown for lunch. The inside looks like a deli, so it's definitely nothing fancy but also not a hole in the wall. I'd recommend the burger to anyone. It's one of the best I've ever had AND made fresh.
I've been to Grace Cafe about three times now, and I always order the same thing: a chicken Caesar wrap on a whole wheat tortilla. I always get the same thing because I enjoy it so much. The tortilla is huge, and they fill it to capacity. It's made right in front of you, so you know that it's always fresh. The service is quick and friendly. I live nearby, so I always get mine to go, but the ambiance of the place is quite enjoyable. Based on this one dish alone, as well as the service and reasonable prices, I would definitely recommend Grace Cafe. I only wish that they were open later.
Good place to grab a quick lunch or sit down and enjoy the nice ambience of the place. Good and fresh coffee as well. Affordable and reasonable price. Tried the half sandwich and soup combo and was really good. Recommended for on the go people.
Awesome Big Breakfast for $7. Really good hash browns. Dry toast. Muffins are great when fresh. Day olds should be discounted. Good music.
Awesome Chai Lattes and Hot Chocolate!. You are always met with exceptional service and friendly staff. Their Chai Lattes and Hot Chocolate (made with steamed milk and cocoa, YUM!) are among the best I have tasted in the city. They also have a great selection of homemade soups. Their corn chowder and chicken noodle soup are delicious not to mention their homemade chili.
Better cappuccinos than Parlor!. Yes there I said it! They do have better cappuccions than parlour, they don't have the flair but the do have the taste. All beans are freshly ground they are made to suite your taste, want more foam DONE, want less DONE, another shot in your cup NO PROBLEM. and its cheaper than Parlour (although I do like Parlor's lattes better).
Staff is both friendly and fast.

Very good restaurant hidden within Winnipeg City hall. Varied menu, lots of standard and non-standard choices. The food is ready quickly (you pick it up yourself - no waiting staff, rather a cafeteria style restaurant). Not too busy, so service is fairly fast. Food is good as well.
Excellent breakfast sandwiches, real egg and not heavy on salt like fast food restaurants. I love their taco salad too. More expensive but that's because they use real fresh food not previously frozen, heavily salted extra greasy slop.
Plus they compost so they are obviously superior to every other Winnipeg restaurant that still throws food waste in the trash which could instead be composted and reused. Better for the environment is a big thing now as it should be for every business. I don't mind paying more in order to support businesses that are actually trying to make a bigger difference for the next 7 generations to come. These small things add up and make a big difference with me when I decide where I make purchases.
Very good food, but some of the portions are small (most meals don't include a side). Also they sometimes can run out of some menu items when larger groups come in the afternoon. The food was made quickly and tastes fresh.
Food menus seems to grow increasingly smaller every month or so but it is quality product.
Small Cappuccinos is only a 2.50 and is the best downtown (sorry Parlor) staff is friendly however service can be a little slow at times.
Lunch menu is a bit expensive but on par with prices downtown.
Comfy leather couches and fake fireplace make this the perfect spot for coffee and lunch breaks!
Great food and always fast and super friendly staff. The coffee is amazing (go for the Americano) and the taco salad can't be beat!
This place has a great menu. And the food is awesome. It is located on the main floor. The dining area has a very relaxed feel.
