My stir fry was very good and service was good. Ingredients are fresh (shrimp can be hit and miss but it was excellent here). I would recommend if you’re looking for a simple but yummy stir fry
Other reviews were saying they don't like this location as much as the others, I've never been to any other locations in the city but I could see why they would say that. The food is really good, but the inside of the restaurant is just unappealing to be in. I would rather take the food to go than eat in there. They have tacky Asian decor, a weird set up of half walls, partitions and fast food style tables and faded posters peeling off the walls. I don't think they've changed a thing in there since it opened in the mid 2000's. The whole dining room is just dank and grungy and dirty, I guess that's why you never see anyone inside it at all.
Prices are fairly high, but you do get a huge portion. You can choose your meat, veggies and sauces and then see it get cooked in front of you. After it's done you can add sauces or sesame seeds to the food. It's really good food and seems to be a good value for a restaurant. It's a good alternative to the usual subway, McDonalds etc and I like it better than Mongos because they know what they're doing I always seem to make something weird and kind of gross there, plus it's cheaper than Mongos.
I would recommend going here if you don't care what the dining room looks like or if you want takeout. I definitely want to go to one of the other locations soon though to check it out.
Warning! The large bowl of noodles is almost too much to eat!. Yes, I made the mistake on a few occasions, of ordering a large bowl of noodles with beef or chicken. The bowl is so large that you won''t be having supper at your regular time, or maybe even at all that evening.
You get food made in front of your eyes on a large flat metal pan, so you're meal is hot. You spice it up, if you wish, and can even opt for chop sticks. It's one of the best values for lunch and always has a steady stream of customers.
This location gets a bum reputation for some reason so I decided to go here! It was dead inside but no line-ups! The food was amazing! Very quick! And the price was really good! I'll definitely be coming back!
Good food, and fresh!. We stop by for dinner to go from Palatal Express about once a week. The food is always fresh and plentiful, lots of choices, and great tasting. This is THE place to come if you don't want greasy, fattening fast food- it is the exact opposite. We usually have to wait about 5 minutes, but since they cook your food once you choose it this is very understandable. Chopsticks optional but always offered. Give them a try!
Good place if you want to have something other than burgers or pizza. They will give you rice under the stirfry if you ask for it, but it's not mixed in. I will go back again.
Good alternative to other greasy fast food.. This place is decent. They weigh the meat for you, and you choose the sauces, veggies, and noodles. No complaints in that area - you can do it how you want. The portions are huge too!
One complaint I DO have is that I wish they could add rice as an option - like, not on the side but stirfried just like they do it at Mongo's and other Mongolian places I've been to. It'd be perfect ... I'm not a huge fan of those yellow egg noodles or udon noodles.
They also serve bubble tea (probably the only place in the St. James area) and chicken wings (never tried it, but if they do it like they do at the old Palatal location on Pembina, it must be really delicious).
Great stirfry with lots of options in vegetables and sauces. Large portions for around ten dollars.
