Delicious food! The buffet was excellent. There was a good variety of food and it all tasted fresh and delicious.
This place is a little hole in the wall that doesn't look like much from the outside. Decided to take a chance and try it after ending up in the parking lot to go to subway (ew) about a month or two ago. They have a takeout veggie combo that is 6 dollars for two items from their buffet and rice. The serving size for a combo is enough for two meals. Samosas are also only .75 each and come with a yummy sauce. The food is delicious and I have been back several times for the takeout combo since! The workers are very pleasant and welcoming! What I've had is comparable to the higher end East Indian food restaurants in the city at a fraction of the cost! Definitely satisfies my cravings! I would say this place is better for takeout then dine in even though they do have a small buffet, since there are only one or two small tables.
Great food, great price. Nice little place to get a good Indian food fix. Went and got take out buffet. 2 Big styrofoam containers full of food, naan bread and 2 samosas for $22. Would definitely go again. Staff was friendly with us despite reading reviews that they were extremely rude, we were served promptly with a smile.
A bit confusing, but very much worth it.. I walked into this place earlier today, and was completely lost for a few seconds. The only indication that Shagan sweets actually sells food, is the deli cases full of sweets. Too the left of the front counter, there was a buffet serving station, but it was covered, so I couldn't tell if it was empty or not. There is no prices and no directions.
My conversation with the counter attendant went like this.
Me> Hi
Her> Hello
Me> Food?
Her> Yes
Me> Ummm, Takeout?
(She points at the covered buffet table and leaves)
I filled one of those styrofoam takeout containers tentatively, not knowing if it was all you can eat, or if they charge by weight.
Thankfully it was all you can eat, and it came with a cucumber salad and some Naan. For just 9 bucks, and what will probably turn into two meals for me, it was a good deal.
Despite the odd interior, the food turned out to be very good, honestly some of the best jalebi I've had. I would reccomend Shagan..
They've got the best jalebi in town. My family usually gets two all you can eat buffet but take out and it fills 4 of us. We also get naan as a side order. Their samosey are also good. We get them as appetizers for when we have guests. We find ordering before hand is much faster and convenient. I have recommended Shagun to my friends and they all have become fans.
Reasonable price. We were curious, so we ordered a some naan, a medium palak paneer and butter chicken curry for pickup. To our surprise, it didn't include rice, but it was larger than we expected. At home, the wife made some of her own naan, and we had enough delicious curry for three meals. The chicken was some kind of square cubed but was all right. I do enjoy the buffets at the more expensive Indian restaurants, but for less than 1/2 of the price, this is much more practical.
Good sweets.. Excellent sweets! Their jalebi is very good - not too repulsively strong, right amount of sweetness ... my partner couldn't stop eating the bag.
Their "fudge" or burfi is good too. However, very cheesy tasting. I don't mind because it adds a nice tang to it, but others who have tried it with me thinks it is too overpowering and ruins the flavour of the sweet. Tastes like cheesecake to me. I recommend the chocolate stuff! Very good.
My go-to for samosa. This nice little shop is in my neck of the woods, so it is my go-to for samosa. I'm not an expert or connoisseur on samosa and similar fare in general, but I love the ones they sell here (and at 75c each, can't be beat).
They also sell a variety of desserts and have a vegetarian lunch buffet, I believe, but the location is quite small and the buffet is also accordingly. There is also a selection of chicken chef items, fried chicken, wedges, strips, etc, and they are pretty average the times I have tried them. Nothing special. I definitely go here for the Indian fare and I'm never disappointed by it.
I come here almost every day to get my food. And I love the taste and the services they provide. Moreover the prices are comparatively low and reasonable than other restaurants. I love this place.
What an excellent dining experience we had. My son, two daughters and granddaughter took me out for lunch.
Very good Menu selections, food was tasty and pricing as expected. There is buffet if you wish.
Gurman took care of our table and was a most gracious host. I will definitely bring my family here again.
Thanks Gurman

I just tried this place for the first time and can honestly say the food is excellent. When I think indian food, it has to come with some heat and it did . I had the buffet to go it was very filling, much more than I expected. I also want to thank the girls who served for being so polite and extremely helpful. I'll be back.
Shagun sweets is our school favourite! We always order from them because they are reliable, quick and efficient with our large order of 500 samosas! We look forward to working with them again!
