One of the culinary features of the part of Winnipeg I live in, is it’s profliferation of Vietnamese restaurants. A quick check of Google Maps lists at least 18 within at most 12 blocks of my house. Some have been there for a very long time, and it seems that there are always new ones popping up. One such restaurant, that if not entirely new, (the restaurants in the are also move around from time to time), is Saigon Star, which recently opened on Sargent Avenue, just east of Arlington Street.
Good Vietnamese restaurant. I like their food and it’s delicious.
KIND FAMILY OWNS THIS PLACE-VERY GOOD AUTHENTIC VIETNAMESE CUISINE
Came in and got the Vermicelli Bowl ($9.90, $11 somethin with taxes, great price, nice size portions) with Grilled Pork and Spring rolls, I usually have it at other places, and this is definitely one of the better ones. Spring Rolls were crisp, Meat was delicious, topped with peanuts. Veggies had a touch of mint which was nice.
Server was very nice, and place isn't as busy as some places (yet) so food comes out real quick. She even surprised me with cantaloupe for dessert. This place is a real gem . 5/5
So food there wasreally good， and the price is also awesome. At busy hours, the waiting time may be a little bit long, but their food always newly prepared and fresh. Seems they didn’t sell some food that stored for a long time.
New restaurant in town but definitely a must try! Price are not so far off to others but hence good customer service. I have found this is the most Vietnamese authentic resto in Winnipeg.
The waitress is damn hot and very respectful. Foods are fantastic but reasonable prices. I highly recommend this place for who never try vietnamese foods before.
I love this place, surprisingly good taste for new restaurant. Everything I've ordered has been excellent. I've been to a lot of Vietnamese restaurants in the city and Saigon Star is one of my favorites although they are new.
