Really nice atmosphere, good coffee and good people.
Only complaint is they need to add cream.. they only serve milk.
I like cream in my coffee!
The best flat whites in the city. Wonderful staff. Relaxed environment.
Forth is a cafe hidden in a ally in Winnipeg downtown.
I come here often for a cup of coffee and quality time just by myself.
The best thing about this cafe would be atmosphere. The interior is modern industrial style and it is gorgeous and very relaxing to me. Sometimes, they have vendor over and have a little local market inside. Every visit is interesting!
I am not a huge fan of their coffee or any beverages to be honest, the coffee is very sour to me, I cannot drink it black because it’s very acidic but even with milk, it is not my favorite type of coffee. Their food menu is food, I have had veggie toast and it was good but it’s a bit on expensive side.
To be fair, this isn’t really a food review because we didn’t eat here.
A group of about ten of us stopped into Forth on Saturday night after taking in dinner for Dine About Winnipeg. The place was pretty packed but we were able to grab the large couch seating thanks to some friendly patrons who decided to move to accommodate us. I absolutely loved the atmosphere of Forth. Every detail from the candlelight, to the music, to the leather bounded menus was on point. Forth is the perfect spot for date night or to grab some crafty drinks with friends. The staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable with recommending drinks. A bunch of us ordered the Bartender’s special which was really cool. You tell them the spirit you like and the flavours you prefer and they will make you a surprise cocktail to fit your tastes. They also have a beer and scotch feature for $15 that my boyfriend enjoyed as he loves trying different types Scotch. I can’t wait to return to Forth and really look forward to the patio this summer!
It’s a cute little café that is first come, first serve so don’t expect anyone to seat you or greet you. You can grab a seat anywhere and there should be little clipboards on the table (the menu) that you can look over and choose to order. If you do decide to order coffee and/or food, you’ll have to go to the front counter to order and pay but they’ll give you a number so they can find you when it’s all ready and bring it over to you.
While I do like their menu and theme, I felt like the food was decent and nothing I’d ever die for. The hot cocoa was bland and I felt the sourdough bread did not compliment the perfectly seasoned avocados and poached egg at all, which of course, left a weird taste in my mouth. It was just meh.
Overall experience, I enjoyed my quiet and relaxing time at this café and the entire aesthetics/design/vibes were cool and chill. Definitely a place I would recommend to go to sit down to study/unwind or catch up with friends over a cup of coffee.
While in Winnipeg for a week, I got in to the habit of starting my day with a coffee at Forth. The place has a really nice, welcoming vibe and the coffee was great. I also had the avocado toast which was delicious! How could you go wrong with ripe avocado smushed on to fantastic, thick cut, sourdough toast with a poached egg on top. I also had the kale and eggs one morning and that, too, was really good. I highly recommend Forth.
Great service, and even better coffee. Had a pour-over made in front of me with pleasant coffee-nerd banter to accompany. Thanks so much! Will return the next time I'm in Winnipeg.
Forth has been a favorite spot since it opened. Where else can you go for breakfast and coffee, a stroll through an art gallery, are able to watch coffee being roasted and drink cocktails + dinner all in the same place? I could spend all day here. Tasty brunch items are available during the day. Amazing staff and atmosphere... and they recently got new teas that brought my favorite (tea latte) to a whole new level. Not only that... but there is a small bar in the basement that serves amazing 2-3oz cocktails that are 100% worth the price. Keep it up Forth!!
Went here to check out what's the hype. The place looks chill and plus they close late. The coffee was good but not the best and the food is a little expensive. Overall my experience was great and the staff are nice too.
This place has it all cafe|coffee bar|bar. The upstairs space is the eatery/coffee bar that's open M-F 7am-10pm and Saturday/Sunday 9am-5pm. The Forth Bar is not as easy to find on first pass as it's not the same entrance as the cafe. The Forth Bar has a door leading downstairs to a Lisa Kehler Art + Projects gallery that's open during the day and a bar area that is dimly lit with several tables. The bar serves up some classic and house created cocktails ($11-$13) plus a handful of dishes like tacos and dumplings for $9. You got a bowl full of peanuts upon being seated. The vibe is relaxed and crowd is late 20s to late 30s. Tried the French 75 which I thought was too tart for my liking. Overall, I enjoyed the ambiance and would definitely return. Music was pretty retro. The bar's hours are not as obvious but generally open till midnight or so.
Cafe owned by Little Sister Coffee Maker owner Vanessa Stachiw, Parlour Coffee owner Nils Vik, Gimli's Chad Ermel and Minneapolis-based Dogwood Coffee.
Great place to hangout with friends or a place to spend time alone. The location was quite hard to find because they don't have a big signage in front. However, they have a pretty good space inside. The coffee was alright for me, a bit stronger than Thom Bargen IMO.
Love EVERYTHING about this place. Food. Ambience. Coffee. Aside from being a little slow, I come here with the hubs and the kids weekly. Great job, Forth!
Enjoyed the experience here. Wonderful staff and also good tasting coffee. The atmosphere is also unique on its own with ample amount of seating (pre covid) and also some patio seating too. Drinks are from $2.75-$5 and they also serve food items (baked goods to avocado toast). Worth visiting.
We had a Nutella croissant and a berry danish to go with our Noisette and an Americano. The pastries were fresh and delicious, particularly the danish that was as big as my head. Rich coffee. Cool little spot with lots of local art for sale that added to the visual interest of the place
I was here for the first time this week. I was nearby and googled where I could have a cup of cappuccino and decided to come here and it was such a great discovery! Even though they hadn't cappuccino on the menu they made it for me. Will come back again for sure. But don't know would it be great to come and work with the laptop for an hoir or two, because I couldn't find power sockets. Also they have ramen but not sure about the time of serving it
Forth bar is an absolutely beautiful bar with an absolutely marvellous patio! After chatting with the staff they made it quite evident that the management had a big heart for them, it definitely shows in their great service and dedication to the guest experience!
When I was there I tried the COPPER MONKEY which was probably one of the most refreshing bourbon drinks I’ve ever had! With ginger kombucha, grapefruit and a hint of mint to top the garnish. Magnifique
I also tired the IDIAZABAL PINTXO which was Prosciutto beautifully presented on a baguette with a wonderful portion of fig jam, and Spanish cheese! You gotta try it!!
Good service. Great atmosphere.
Good selection of nice, light snacks. Olives with Basil Olive Oil and Focaccia with Balsamic & Olive Oil were both really tasty.
Really good cocktails. Bartenders choice was a great option, as was the Joy Division.
I’ll come back.
great coffee, especially real friendly staffs:)
for now it’s the best coffee i’ve ever had in winnipeg
Amazing new place work great artisanal dishes and impressive cafe beverages. Lots of room for many people inside, very friendly staff and open format layout.
