Not only do I go here weekly for a work lunch, but drive across the city to take the family on weekends. It is always fantastic and the ownership actually cares.
The portions are large, everything is tasty. You want a deluxe burger with a chicken burger on it? Not a problem! Half poutine half chili cheese fries? Done! Always fantastic veggie burgers.

I've been trying out different burger joints and I've noticed that establishments usually have a good burger and bad fries or good fries and a bad burger. But your establishment has a delicious burger and the fries are great. Thanks for the free sample �

Husband and I ordered take out and ordered a deluxe burger each (pickles, onion, chili, lettuce, tomato and mayo) - the burger is pretty big and for the most part the bun held up all that goodness in there.
With our deluxe burgers we ordered a small poutine, small chili cheese fries and an order of onion rings. A good sized portion for smalls and more than we could handle. Onion rings were crisp and tasty, chili cheese fries and the poutine were pretty good.
Visited The Burger Place last weekend. We ordered a deluxe cheese burger, two double deluxe burgers, 2 poutine and frings. Everything was fantastic!! Huge portions and delicious. We will definitely be back!
Best burger place in Winnipeg no question!!! Classic burger with Chili, pickles, onions, and mustard. Homemade burger... Homemade fries. Cannot beat it!
Seriously the best burgers I have ever had!! I've tried many of the menu items and haven't found a single thing I didn't love. Portions are huge and decently priced, toppings on burgers/hot dogs are generous, staff is friendly. The banana milkshakes are amazing! Definitely worth checking out.

Exactly what you would expect from a "burger place". Everything is quality and the staff is really nice. With a lot of really good options in this city, this is my west end choice.
Excellent place to go in St. James especially since there's not very many old school burger joints in West Winnipeg. I really appreciate that they have a veggie burger option (not many do) and their poutine is delicious. The staff are always friendly and there doesn't seem to be a high turnover rate which speaks volumes.
This is my gold standard burger all others are compared to. I've been coming here since I was a kid, and the quality and service has not changed. Great food, large portions and a reasonable price. I've had fat boys at George's, Red Top, Vj's, and many others, they are all good burgers, but nothing ever compares to Burger place. The meat to bun ratio is always perfect, the patty always covers the bun, which I can't say is the same for many other burger joints. The chili is certainly my fave of all other chili burger joints, and they're always generous on burger toppings.
The only caveat to the Burger Place is, it's not designed to be a dine-in joint, with only 3 tables, limited parking and a large customer base, orders take a bit of time so if you don't want a wait, make sure you call it in ahead of time.
My family has been going here for years! The owners are super nice, and they always have nice staff. Hands down the best chili cheese fries in the city !!!
Super great food, been going here for probably 20 years. Amazing Burgers & Fries. This place is simply fantastic. My favorites are the Chili & fries, Double deluxe with Bacon and of course their amazing Onion Rings. Also, nice hot dogs too.
Excellent Greek burger and fries, very filling and reasonably priced. Went back many times...its a neighborhood institution.. Cant wait to try the other menu items..... this place is a gem..
The Burger Place came highly recommended by a friend and it did not disappoint. Friendly and efficient staff, but the star of the show are the burgers and fries (and chili). They rank right up there with the best in the city - which is not easy in a town filled with quality burger options! I wouldn't hesitate to go back when next in town.
I ordered the Deluxe cheese hamburger 🍔 with onion rings, and it was the finest burger I've ever eaten in Winnipeg. It was incredibly juicy, as if the meat had been precisely prepared with right ingredients. The onion rings were tasty and crunchy. I would like to suggest this restaurant to everyone because it has been operational in Winnipeg since 1929.
WOW! I regret how long it took to try this place. You can taste the quality of the ingredients in the food- the burger was juicy and perfectly grilled, and the fries were beyond my expectations. Delicious milkshakes especially when seated at their patio. Thank you, will return again!
Delicious, quick, and upholds a homemade feeling. Great beef and chicken burgers, and even better milkshakes. Even the gravy is a win.
I would think of a spot to walk around or sit at if you want to eat here, but the food alone is worth the effort
I've been eating here for over 15 years and it's still by far my favorite place for fatboys in the city. Prices are also better than the competition.
Four stars instead of five since I really miss the old days - dining in with the boss man himself serving up the burgers.
