Amazing food & service. Best Dim Sum I've EVER had! Great service and the wonderful owners made me feel like a VIP. I highly recommend that you try this place!
They serve good Viet food as listed with reasonable price. Nice & lovable attentive Asian people ready to serve your needs!
Love this place! My partner invited me here as I had never had dim sum before, wow have I been missing out! My most favourite were the pork dim sum and steamed custard buns! Our waitress Jin was amazing. Canāt wait to go back and try the chicken feet which was recommended by Jin. Highly recommend this restaurant!
Came here with a huge party of family members for Friday dim sum before noon. They were able to seat us no problem at two large tables. Food arrived on carts, and opinions were mixed on how good it was, but for myself, it was perfectly fine.
I loved the aquarium in the entrance of the store with real fish and coral !
This is the best dim sum place in Winnipeg and likely most of Western Canada (Vancouver included). The food is amazing. The speed is impressive. A little pricey for dim sum but worth it. Servers donāt interact too well and are not the friendliest but still great place.
I frequent all the downtown dim sum places, but I avoid Kum Koon Garden because of their higher prices. Recently I found out they have a happy hour...and a half, between 1:30-3pm where select dishes are slightly cheaper at $3.50 an item. Even at happy hour, the price for dim sum is comparable to other restaurants at their regular prices, but I wanted to try it to see if it was a matter of quality. The happy hour selection is smaller and has some of the main staples like shrimp and pork dumplings, but you can still order other items just at full price. In my opinion, the dim sum was pretty comparable in quality to other restaurants that I would probably go elsewhere. The shrimp rice rolls were notably better at Kum Koon Garden, but unfortunately it is not a happy hour item. The service was professional, prompt and attentive.
Iāve come to Kum Koon Garden over the years many times. They offer a solid dim sum selection and also a pretty comprehensive Cantonese chinese menu.
Came here earlier in the week for dinner with the family. We were interested in doing the Peking Duck and Kum Koon Garden charges $48 for a duck used in three courses (Peking Duck Crepes, Duck Soup, Stir Fried Duck and Vegetables). You can upgrade the stir fried duck and vegetables for a letttuce wrap option for an additional $8. We opted for that and all items were very tasty.
We had considered ordering some more dishes along with rice, but opted for noodles instead. Both noodle dishes were a bit salty for our tastes. The chow mein was also pretty greasy as they deep fry the noodles to make it crispy. This place is huge on flavoring and portions. In terms of pricing, it is up there compared to the other locations nearby. However, the portion size kind of makes up for the higher prices.
With the many options nearby, I wouldnāt necessarily come here for dim sum or just noodles. But when it comes to Cantonese dishes or standouts like the Peking Duck, then this place is worth the trip.
This rating is for the dim sum.Ā I have tried dim sum all over the city and still like theirs the best.Ā I have been going there since it was on Main St in the McIntyre building so it may just what I'm used to.Ā Weekend lunches are the best, most variety, fresh and tasty.Ā There are a few dishes I don't care for but that's just my personal taste.Ā I actually came on here to check the ratings for supper as I have never been there for supper - according to the ratings, doesn't look promising.
Food is very good, service was quick and the Resturant was clean. Dim sum style portions. Prices were very reasonable also. Would definitely go back again.
Been going here since I was only 1. Could say I'm now a professional chopstick user. Best Chinese in the city, great taste of Cantonese cuisine. Lunch service is the best, don't be shy to try different things off the cart you haven't seen before. You won't be disappointed!
Featuring both authentic comfort food and upscale Chinese style seafood in a beautiful banquet hall, Kum Koon was a perfect spot for our Chinese New Year dinner. And while the prices are certainly higher than all other Chinese spots in town, the quality of the food and marvelous venue make it unequaled in Winnipeg. Happy Chinese New Year 2016!
This is still my favourite place to go for dim sum. Ā It might be a little pricier, but I've found the cart service to be good and consistent. Ā Of course it's best to go early for lunch and not on a busy day like Friday. Ā I love the mango pudding! Ā Happy that it has not changed since the last time I went several years ago.
The best Chinese restaurant in Winnipeg. The restaurant serves all day dim sum. Dim sums are freshly prepared every morning, that's why their dim sums taste so good. We ordered from the menu as well, everything tasted great, we particularly liked their BBQ pork dish. Their fried beef noodle was great as well, we found out that the restaurant made their own noodle rather than buying premade packages, no wonder the noodles are QQ (chewy). Will definitely recommend this restaurant to others.
I've been eating here for over a decade. The staff are friendly and I love the little carts with delicious food. Food is always hot and fresh. If they don't have what you're looking for, you can always ask. Parking is gold. Place is accessible.
English spoken fluently there. No language barrier to deal with.
Lots of locals means it a good place. Asians and non-asians. That is exactly what this dim sum place looks like.
I was in town and wanted some dim sum. I Google a random place and found this place that opens at 11am. I got there at 1120 and it was packed. Lots of locals, lots of Asians and the dim carts were busy.
I ordered the roast duck and then ate 4 dim sum as I waited. The dim sum were fresh and the service was good on this Saturday.
By the time the duck came I was almost full. The duck was good. But the dim sum was better. In hindsight I should just ate dim sum.
The menu had crazy amount of items. The venue definitely can host over 100 people. Many family style tables set up to share dishes. Probably a great place for gatherings.
The casual dinning place was friendly and the dim sum carts were fast. The prices range small, large, and xlarge plates and price accordingly. The roast duck olust 5 dim sum dish set me back about $50. The dishes average about $6.00.
The parking is in the back and it was free on Saturday. I would definitely go back to this place for dim sum.
This place was great, fun atmosphere..and good food. The dumplings were the best.
Extremely happy with the service and food! Authentic flavours and their chef specials are all highly recommended to try.
A bit pricey, though we did order a lot of food. Definitely left full! Nice variety of dumplings and other items for dim sum service
