Owner smoked a suckling pig for our bachelor party. It was packed in several layers of foil in a box on pick up (easy to carry) and needed just a couple of hours on the fire to become the most perfect, juicy, and succulent pulled pork I've ever had. We specified we were feeding 15 people, and no one went hungry. I wrapped the leftovers and bones, and made 2 gallons of soup when I got home. No waste, lots of taste! I have yet to eat in the restaurant, but plan to do so soon, hopefully it's as good as full-pig take-out!!!
A solid place to eat and have a good time with friends. The countless times I've been to Stuttering John's I am yet to have a bad experience. The atmosphere of the place is nice and cozy, the staff there are super friendly and always have a smile on their faces. The food has never disappointed me, the lack of choices for beer is a bit of a downside though. Their takeout is good too, would recommend to give this place to anyone wants a heavy meal!
This place is Amazing. dinner with friends last night and everyone loved it. Everything homemade and HUGE portions. We will be back to this Courtice gem.
An urbanspoon redemption!. We returned to Stuttering John's January 23 looking to satisfy our poutine craving considering how good it was the first time we tried it on our first visit November 22. I wasn't impressed with the service which was not a problem this time around. Staff were extremely attentive, engaging and knowledgeable about the food and made recommendations. The Smokehouse poutine was loaded with a generous serving of pulled pork and our Bacon Double Cheese Briskets were fantastic, with lots of flavour and served on soft, fresh buns. Drinks were refilled. We may even become regulars seeing as we just live south of the restaurant. I would highly suggest those living in Courtice make this a regular Friday night destination.
Great atmosphere and friendly staff. All the food was excellent especially the chip truck fries, ribs, and roasted squash salad! Can't wait to come back and try more!
