Wonderful retro-themed restaurant with great staff, a little packed but it makes sense with the cool ambience and amazing food. Got the mac and cheese, some Cajun wings, and Mel's Smash burger. Although on the greasy side, the food was delicious and really filling. Will definitely come back to try more menu items.
I’m so happy we finally tried this lovely restaurant because it did not disappoint. I wish we had gotten our waitress’ name because she was an absolute delight and such a sweetheart! Excellent service right from the get go! The food was amazing! She recommended their buttermilk fried chicken because it’s never frozen and made fresh and my goodness was it delicious!!! Everything tasted so fresh and yummy we were very happy and will definitely be back to this cute, unique, diner-style restaurant! Such a great family friendly spot and also great for date nights! Highly recommend!

We have been going to Melanie Pringles weekly for the past 6 years, so this review is long overdue! Their salads with homemade dressing are beyond amazing- I have yet to find another restaurant in Durham that can match the quality of Melanie Pringles salads. Not to mention that the weekly wing and beer schooner special are such an amazing value for the quality of what you get! The staff is always so incredibly friendly and if anything is even the slightest bit off with your meal, they go above and beyond to fix it- you never feel like you are "bothering" them. They are also so accommodating about swaps or modifications to your meal. One of the Manager's Katie is truly an exceptional part of the team- she really understands customer service, and is always ready to help/serve with a positive attitude! Whenever we know Katie is serving us, our day gets a bit brighter :) .I honestly can't say enough about how much we love this place- it's become our "go to" spot for a meal out in Durham. You won't be disappointed!
I can see why this restaurant has been open for 30+ years. Our family always has a wonderful dining experience. The staff are fantastic and make sure that we were all taken care of. The drinks are cold and the portions are huge.
Everyday, there is a food/drink special and I recommend taking advantage of.
Great restaurant. The menu is kid friendly and their fries are fresh and tasty. Their house dressing is amazing. My favourite is the Mac and cheese burger with the chicken breast substituted and house dressing instead of sriracha ketchup. It’s so good!
Hadn't been here in years, but it's still as good as I remember. Staff was friendly and attentive, food was delicious and served hot. Love their 50s diner decor. The buttermilk fried chicken sandwich was so moist and tasty, their fresh-cut fries had the right amount of crispness. My son had the foot long Philly cheese steak sandwich and he said it was really tasty. My daughter had the smash burger with cheese and she really enjoyed it. Hubby had the fried buttermilk chicken entree with sweet potato fries. So good! All portions were generous! We left content, happy and full! Highly recommend if you're craving diner-style/pub style food in a fun, casual setting! We'll be back!
