What a surprise to get probably the best fish and chips I have had, I am a cook myself and I couldn’t eat all of the food that I got and it was amazing!!! Great place to eat !!
After returning from a short hiking trip, we were hungry and looking for something to eat around Horseshoe Bay. We settled at C Loves Fish and Chips. We hear their ads on the radio all the time but never tried it. They are famous for their all you can eat fish and chips. It was a Saturday early evening, around 5 pm so it was not yet dinner time for most people. The restaurant was not too busy so we got a table right away. It got busier after 5:50.
The batter they use for their fish is amazing. I think it is better than most of the fish and chip places I've tried and that is a lot. Chips are amazing as well. I highly recommend this place if you are visiting Horseshoe Bay.
One of the best fish and chips I have eaten, and I have tried over 100 locations in five countries. We tried the all you can eat for $13.99. Fish , cod, is done to perfection. Stacked high on the plate. Batter is crispy and not greasy. Fish is tasty and flakey. Fries are crispy and not soggy. The prawn madness special four for $1.99 are exceptional. Our server was very pleasant and attentive and made the meal even more enjoyable. If you love sea food this location is a must to visit.
Best halibut and prawns and also onion rings that come at a great price. Hereafter I'll come get takeaway from here next time waiting for ferries, rather than eating on board.
My husband is from Newfoundland so he is very very picky about his fried cod...we have this thing at home where we always buy Atlantic cod and Pacific salmon. On our way back into the city from Squamish we stopped into Horseshoe Bay and found this gem. I enjoyed Trolls growing up but it has changed ownership and no longer has super great fish and chips. I've also been to Newfoundland and have learned to be very picky when it comes to cod. My hubby has tried a few places in Steveston for cod and was just "blah" about it. We tried this place and he raved about how great it was. The cod was so flaky and fresh, well priced and huge portions! Definitely Newfie-approved! All it needed was dressing and gravy! We will come back the next time we are in town!
The ultimate platter for two is a tower of deep fried goodness and a bowl of coleslaw. Halibut is very tasty and light batter lets you taste the fish. All this and great service.
Best haddock around.... And their mushy peas are plain perfect! Great service, huge portions, good prices. What more does a guy need. Consistently excellent. Eat in or take out. Definitely recommended.
Food, service and price were all perfect. All you can eat fish with bottomless fries and pop for 13 bucks. Amazing experience
I've gotta say, their sign that say "the best fish and chips in town" is pretty eye catching. I don't usually eat fried foods because I am abit on the health conscious side, but it seems like a waste to not have fish and chips when you are at Horseshoe Bay. In the past that I was here, I've given Troll's a try and I like them pretty much, but I wanted to see what this place is like so I went in. We were greeted my very friendly waiters and waitresses and the place looked very clean. My first impression of it was pretty good. They have a wide selection of fish and chips, the different varieties of fishes range from halibut to cod to salmon! They also have some sides and chowder. The most interesting thing they have is the "All you can eat fish and chips". I felt like going for the all you can eat, but I wasn't too hungry so I decided to order a haddock burger. When the burger came, the huge piece of fish spanned two buns and had a layer of colesaw under it. I ate the buns with the cole
