Stopped in after an appointment ordered the nachos & jr Ethel burger. Best nachos I’ve had anywhere, they don’t skimp on the toppings which is nice! The burger was amazing not too dry. The burger alone was filling even though it came with sides - can’t wait to come back!
Excellent service, fun drinks and tasty snacks! (med wings were a little more on the spicy side for me, and no blue cheese)
Large menu, lots of patio space, and amazing daily deals such as three dollar tacos. Lots of vegetarian options as well, with many items also easily converted to vegetarian.
Quintessential Diner. This place was one of my favourite haunts when I lived in Uptown. Great, old fashioned diner, with excellent food, based partially on a Tex-Mex style. The food was excellent, and incredibly reasonable and in particular the Saturday night ribs were great. Staff was always super friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was super fun and relaxed. It attracts a wide variety of patrons, spanning the neighbourhood it sits in and beyond. Definitely one of the go-to spots in Waterloo.
Ethel's has a lot to love. Great outdoor space, great energy, nice and cozy inside also.
Nice variety of beers and something new to try with every visit if you are feeling adventurous.
The food is, comforting. Not spectacular and not bad.
Went here for their Monday special, burgers. The burgers were great and the drinks were reasonably priced. Make sure to ask what their rotating tap is because they can have some interesting beers! Service was great, especially by this one gentleman that came by our table a couple of times named Alex
