The food isn't why I come here... it's a Chinese food buffet, decent for what it is but not exceptional. What is exceptional is the service! Buffet restaurants are not usually known for their service but this place is different everyone is so inviting and engaging, nothing is too much trouble! If something is running low at the buffet they are right on it, even if it is close to closing time. Really awesome :)

Id gain a lot of weight if it was a regular indulgence.

We really like this place, been there couple times already for lunch buffets recently in the last few months. $15/person for a lunch buffet is a reasonable price in town. The food selection is great. You have to try its deep fried squid, oh mine, better than the one from Golden City (downtown) with a much less price. The squid is very tender. The deep fried spare rib is awesome! You can taste the ingredients are fresh, and the chefs don't use much artificial add-ons to the dishes, not like the kitchen at Fairway@Quadra. The waitresses there are friendly. After "Raymond" has changed hands many years ago, I've lost my favourite buffet spot in town, until I found Szechuan City Buffet.
Went for dinner here last night. Good, flavourful, and not greasy! We will be back! The service was amazing and super friendly too.

The secret of this place is showing up right when they open for lunch or dinner time...Guarenteed fresh,hot and satisfaction.Then you don't run into the problem of dried out gummy food and sometimes waiting for them to bring out more food,usually your favorite ones..lol...This usually happens when it's getting closer to switch over from lunch to dinner and then getting closer to dinner closing....If you have made this mistake like i have before then you know reality sets in....So remember show up early and have a wonderful experience at the Szechuan City Buffet.
Fresh amazing chinese food. I always drove by the place and noticed the parking lot was usually full with cars. This to me was a sign the food had to be delicious and I am so thankful I made the decision to give the restaurant a chance. Everything was fresh and delicious! I tried a bit of everything from the Squid, wontons, chow mein and the spring rolls! If your contemplating whether or not to give this restaurant a chance, I say go for it! It will be the best decision you will ever make and you won't go to any other chinese restaurant in Victoria.
Best chinese food I've ever had!. I've been to a few chinese buffets in Victoria; however, Szechuan City is absolutely by far my favourite. The waitresses were very friendly and they were very quick to take the plates away from the table once I was finished. They had a variety of chinese dishes including shanghai noodles, salt & pepper squid, chicken wings and there delicious dumplings served during lunch.
The next week I took a few friends out for dinner at Szechuan City and it was exactly the same great service and delicious food. Unfortunately they don't serve the dumplings during dinner but the shrimp and honey garlic ribs more than made up for it. Squid is very easy to overcook; however, the chefs at Szechuan City always get it perfectly right. I'll definitely be coming back to Szechuan City! It's my new go to place for chinese food!
Went with a group of 5 guys for lunch on a Saturday. Ordered combo for 6a and added a few items. We were hoping for the buffet but that's only on Saturdays for dinner. BUT we had more than enough food and cheaper.
Food was super fresh and tasted delicious! Will be back to try Buffett.

I wanted to order from this restaurant to see if everybody was right… I had heard from several people that the Buffet had reopened, and it looked super. I was ordering through skip so I looked through the menu and found combo number four for 1 which was basically sweet-and-sour pork, house chow mein, and almond chicken since, I couldn’t find any option to switch from pork to chicken balls on the skip app so I called the restaurant. The lady I spoke to was so sweet and patient and she explained to me that they would send me a charge for additional 4- to upgrade through Skip and we parted ways, and after about 20 minutes saw that the skip driver was going to the restaurant but I have yet to receive the charge from the restaurant. so I called again and told them I hadn’t received that charge yet. She said Skip had changed the policy so that the restaurant couldn’t do that anymore but this time, she said, it was on the house for the upgrade. This is my new favourite restaurant to go to when I’m craving Chinese food HOWEVER THE NEW OWNERS TAKE POSSESSION
OCTOBER 1, 2023. The house chow mein was spectacular. The almond chicken was great and the sweet-and-sour chicken balls just cut like butter it was really good and delicious. I just can’t wait to re-order it again or go to the restaurant for a dine in experience . I asked the Owner if they were leaving the recipes with the new owners, and she laughed… This just recently found a jewel of a restaurant may end up, not carrying forward with the delicious food and the big portions
THIS PLACE WAS AMAZING!!! I went here w/ my parents+siblings and as soon as we came in a nice lady welcomed us. She wasn't like other ppl who would've just recommended the most expensive thing, she actually helped us get the most cost effective and filling menu items, keeping our appetite and budget in mind. She kept us feeling happy and welcome, the food was delicious and obviously freshly made(!!!) and all in all, it was a cheap yet amazing experience. 100/10 experience. If you're looking for a sign to go here, this is it!

5. The buffet options are amazing but during the very busy time, a lot of them were empty. They did their best to try to refill them.
6. I didn't see soft drink options. Some section of the machine were out of order. Not sure when they will get that fixed.
7. Very limited Dessert options and were empty during busy time.
The buffet dishes were very delicious. There is a balance of food options

4. Mussels dish
5. Few seafood options

I would come back again for the buffet. Maybe not during a very busy time.

Great place to get some Asian food I didn’t stay for the buffet which I feel like is the most popular option, but I did get some ginger beef to go and the portion was so large that I ended up having two meals out of it. Well worth it for the $15 or so that I paid for it Will definitely come again if I’m ever in the area

Great Chinese buffet all kinds of meat and veggies. Fish, shrimp and shellfish as well. Two soups, fried rice and noodles. I liked the Jasmine tea staying hot in the coffee urn. Good service at our table. Lots of food to choose from. Brownies, Rice Crispie squares, Mango and other jellies for dessert, and pineapple chunks. Great value.
It was a pretty nice experience. I went there with my friends and the staff were amazing and treated us very well. The food was delicious and I just pay 22 dollars ”per person” ( I think It was not expensive compared to what we get).
The only thing to improve is that they need AC during the summer in their restaurant because it was hot.
I absolutely recommend it to ya to try it with your friends and families.
We wanted a traditional “greasy spoon” buffet and thought this would be it. We were genuinely surprised at the overall quality and taste, the heightened precautions towards buffet health and safety and the ultra friendliness of the staff. We just really enjoyed it.
