We visited here twice - when I knew about this place I was so excited. Then, after the first visit, I was a bit disappointed. The second visit still couldn't wow me either. I didn't love tuna tataki's rub- tasted like cajun spices. The side dishes were okay. Assorted katsu and crispy tofu were good. Unfortunately, the crust of Tonkatsu was falling apart. It was crispy outside but wet inside- so was the surface of the meat. I tried hard to love this place, but after two visits and disappointment, I think that would be it.
Albeit the restaurant’s small capacity and amount of staff, KAPPO MARTA has done an excellent job during my visit (group of 9.) When I called in for a reservation, the hostess mentioned that the restaurant may be slightly cramped with such a large group. However, they made it happen with no inconvenience at all. The decoration was cool, and I found the color combinations and designs fairly comfortable. Despite having a large group, the wait staff were very patient, and the dishes we ordered rolled out of the kitchen within a rather surprisingly timely manner. One thing to consider- all the dishes were completely authentic and high quality, which, was delightful at such an affordable price.
I consider this restaurant a hidden gem 💎, and I will totally dine here again. 10/10 👍
I was finally able to go to the restaurant that I had been interested in for a while. I had high hopes for this highly rated restaurant, and it did not disappoint. The small bowls that come with the set are all authentic Japanese seasonings, and I was very full. I would love to visit again to try something different. The restaurant is not that big, so reservations are recommended.

Still a regular patron. Everything is still delicious. They have added sushi and nigiri party platters for takeaway. These should be ordered in advance. YUM!

We really enjoy the variety of elements which make up the Japanese set meals. The accompanying dishes to the main entree you order rotate regularly. This allows diners to try an assortment of Japanese dishes while enjoying the certainty of their selected menu item. Brilliant.
Love the spicy beef, and agedashi tofu!

Lovely place in a cozy space. Staff are kind and attentive and the food is delicious! We've always ordered from the "Set" menu options, which give you a choice of main plus an amazing assortment of sides to accompany it. Worth going back for, but like, repeatedly.
Super cute atmosphere and delicious, beautifully prepared food! I was so happy to see there were plenty of gluten free options available. They are marked on the menu with a dot in front of the item. I had the gluten free salmon poke set which came with miso soup, gomae, seared tuna, seaweed salad and a sweet fried soft tofu. My friend ordered the gyudon set. I will definetly be back to try other menu items!
We tried three different assorted Katsu sets. Each one was delicious and fresh. Each of the small plates in the set was artfully arranged and tasted delicious. And they were each different, including different kinds of rice and pickles. My spouse had tuna tataki, I had grilled chicken udon soup, and our child had tofu; everything was very good. The service was outstandingly friendly! Everything was served with grace and a smile.
Wonderful Teishoku, like a quick trip to Japan. Everything was excellent, light and crispy katsu and karage cooked to perfection. Sides are plentiful, delicate and falvourful. The set meal is a great size and leaves you with a full belly. Looking forward to try other items.
Very intricately prepared dishes, reminds me of what I ate when travelling in Japan. The kaarage chicken was especially delicious! Inside the restaurant, it was clean and tidy and service was good.
Decided to try this relatively new restaurant ( 4 months )the rice was a little hard and the tonkatsu didn’t have a lot of taste to be honest . Nicely presented but $25 for the lunch was a little pricey for what it was. Very cold temp in there today Oct 25th,12:30 pm. Small place but very quaint and all the tables were full.
